Ha ha!
Had a good laugh. 2ww while going through fertility treatment is really really BAD!! During my 2 IUI procedures (both failed....) - I first try to take a holiday during the first IUI's 2ww. It was horrible!! I could not enjoy a single event, outing or shopping spree. One moment I felt that I could be pg, the next the doubt set in. DH had a really shitty time trying to make me relax.

During our 2nd IUI 2ww, I tried to stay as busy as I could and flooded myself with extra projects and meetings at work. JUST as horrible. Felt so sorry for myself and was really moody and thinking about it now, I guess the lack of sleep during that particular 2ww, could have jeapordized the whole cycle!

Lush
Jip - the 2ww of an IUI procedure...is pretty much the same. Except that you have more debt (!) during the IVF 2ww and had more procedures done (egg retrieval and blastocist placement) as oppose to IUI (sperm being placed inside uterine cavity).

Hi SS (StruggelingSammy)
We did the same. We did not tell anyone about our fertility journey. (Parents included). To this day they still do not know that Lee (our firstborn) was conceived via a long journey of 3 years and eventual IVF success. It helped us that no one knew. I told a handful of good friends (most living abroad) and then spend my time on forums trying to stay sane. Luckily I did (or so I hope!!)

I'm crossing my fingers for your 2ww!!

Chanti
I will send you a pm. I'm also close to the Drakensberg and used a FS in Bloemfontein.

Hi Chanti!

Oh I am seeing Dr Trouw at the Netcare Pretoria East Hospital. He is a specialist gynae, so I am doing my IUI with him (he also does the whole IVF thing also) and it doesn't cost me NEARLY as much as those actual fertility clinics! Since starting with him, he put me on hormones and did ovulation tracking for me so that I actually got to see my eggies growing (never had that before)... Then on Saturday we did the sperm washing and IUI.... He is a bit of a different character.. I would say that he is a real introvert and not really a people's person, but he knows his stuff, he is straight forward and tells it like it is, which I actually appreciate.. The nursing staff at his rooms are absolutely wonderful ladies and they are so supportive... I look forward to each and every appointment I have there :)

Oh and just to let you know... my SIL is a physiotherapist and worked at the same hospital, and she actually recommended I go see Dr T because apparently his reputation proceeds him in the medical field!

Best of luck with all your research!
