Trying for a 2016 baby

Oh my word Chanti! Where do I begin????

So on Thursday morning I took a HPT (Clearblue Digital) and lo and behold I got my BFP!!!! Then I went straight to the pathologists because I was scheduled to have my blood test done... When I got there, the nurse asked when I had my iui so I said 12 days ago... her response was "well isn't it a little early for a beta?" So I just replied that I am simply following the instructions of my FS... Anyway, so I got my results... and my HCG levels are only 24... According to my FS, anything over 25 is considered a positive, and because mine is sitting at 24, they don't want to say yes or no....... I was devastated!

So here are my thoughts:
* I tested my HCG injection out of my system by Sunday morning... Perhaps my FS was afraid to make a call, because he may be thinking its left over HCG from my injection?
* I don't know WHEN I actually ovulated, because I have serious PCOS and I do not have a period/ovulate without meds (so I have nothing to reference), but what I CAN say is that on Wednesday evening I had very strange cramping, and if I had to guess, I would say that implantation ONLY occurred on Wednesday night (which would be 11dpiui - Is that possible? Perhaps I only ovulated a day or two after my IUI?)
*Thirdly and lastly... Yes many fortunate ladies are able to pick up faint BFP from around 10dpo, but the SAFEST bet is from the day of your missed period, right? so if that is the case, then by Saturday (when I am now going for my 2nd beta) my HCG levels SHOULD have doubled right? Then there is no doubt that I am in fact pregnant?

I swear things with me, must ALWAYS be a thousand times MORE complicated than with others... I always seem to be the exception to the general rules!

I took another HPT this morning, just to sooth my crazy thoughts, and the BFP is STILL there!!!! So therefore I am tentatively excited to be pregnant... But I will wait until I get tomorrow's beta levels before I truly start believing it!

Usually my AF arrived (during my IUI's) before I managed to went for the sheduled bloodtest. So, you are most definately still in the run. Get the Clearblue Digital when you test. It is the most accurate and after spending many Rands on other brands, I now only buy them. With my IVF I started testing long before the bloodtest, because I wanted to be prepared for the results (thinking that if it was negative, I would handle it better if the nurse at the clinic phone me with the "I'm so sorry" message).

So, (in the event of your IUI being negative), at least you are prepared for the news (a little!). Do the bloodtest. It is the only way to know for sure.

(I suspect it also gives the clinic valuable information - because sometimes you do conceive, but miscarry early - like in a chemical pg - and they will be able to also pick that up during a bloodtest as their will be some HCG levels in your blood).

@strugglingsammy - I haven't done iui so I may be wrong but as long as AF hasn't arrived you still have a chance! I know some ladies that never got a BFP on a test and only had a blood test.

Morning all.... Seen as I am extremely new to this and don't know anyone, other that the ladies on this site who are doing IUI/IVF etc... I was just wondering.... I managed to test the HCG out of my system (it was officially out by Sunday morning)... As of today I am 11dpiui and this morning I am still testing negative on HPT. The dr originally scheduled my blood test for tomorrow morning.... But at this point because of the BFN I got this morning again, I don't even see the point of doing the blood test,,, Am I simply being ridiculous? Is there ANY chance that I might still get my BFP? Sorry about all the (silly) questions... I just don't know who else to ask or how a lot of this is supposed to work Feeling rather shattered this morning to be honest

@Jooste - I agree with you, we do seem to have gotten bad news lately. Definitely praying for a good December!! I hope you get your BFP before having to do IVF again. Im still hoping for a miracle before we have to do IVF...
