Hi loadies,
Hope everyone is well, it's sunday and i finally have some time to catch up. Not that weekends are any diffeent to week days for me but it goes dead quiet here so i get chance to read up LOL
TaNasha- B6 is great, it'll reduce prolactin levels if they are high like mine were after baby no1, but also it gives you some more energy and focus on life, you can also keep taking them when you fall pregnant and they should help with the nausea.
Marinda- i wasn't taking any iron supplements except folic acid, I am horrifically allergic to synthetic iron and it either makes my whole body rash or i vomit and no matter how many times the SANBS ladies tell me to take it I don't. I am badly anemic and like i say even through eating iron rich foods my levels are never high enough to donate blood.
The month before i conceived i was sick and tired of TTC after 6m and decided to up mine and DH's folic acid intake to 2 tabs a day, then i was called for blood donation and decided to try it and amazingly my iron was high enough, well what do you know, i never saw AF again........ I don't think a double dose of folic acid made me pregnant itself but i think it upped my iron levels enough to really help. That and BDing every other night between CD10 and CD20 with 3 consecutive nights after my + OPK. in previous months i had not been getting any + OPK's either. It might all be coincidence but surely the iron is worth a try.
Firefly suggested a natural food complex iron to me : FoodState Iron because it's not synthetic it's not giving me any of those nasty side effects. you get it at Dischem, it's R74 for 30 tabs 1 per day so cheaper than synthetic iron too. Because I'm having twins my gynae has insisted I'm on iron permanently regardless of the side effects so this is really a great find for me!
Ilse is right, technically Iron is poisonous if you OD but also if you are anemic your body won't heal and function the way it should so i definitely think it's worth people looking into. If it was so poisonous would they really sell it OTC for you to self dose and diagnose? The food state iron is safe for pregnancy and BF.
Hi Claire- me and the boys are doing well thanks, actually having a really trouble free pregnancy 'touch wood' just getting big fast with these 2 fat boys!
So Gautengers, I'm just going to remind one and all that we have our meet this coming saturday 4th Sept, 11am Greenstone mall, cappuccinos.
Tracy & Hayley- are we sticking to the same plan as before for saturday?
Hayley- so pleased to see AF arrived and giving you a perfect 14 day LP! I wonder if the few months of Clomid didn't mess up your system a bit but now it at least is on the mend. Onwards with your more natural attempt at TTC and i hope this really works for you soon! p.s try the iron hun, especially if you have a big bleed this month!
Tracy- I'm so pleased you actually tried the Pg cream this month, at least you can say you tried it and add it to your bundle of information for 'future' reference ;-(
Andy- enjoy the wedding planning!
love to all others! xxx
