question-circle Breast feeding and occasional bottle feeding?

Hi ladies,
My LO is 6 days old, and I have already introduced bottle. I only did that because of cracked nipples which makes breastfeeding so painfull. I do however only give one bottle either during the day, or one night feed.

I just remembered what I did to prevent nipple confusion early on. I cup fed Dylan. (yes the brain does eventually work)

They are promoting cup feeding in state hospitals now. It is easy to do.

We are going to the game on 21 and 24 June! So not much time after 6 weeks to move over to bottles!

I am doing both from one month > i started to give formula after bath time(night feed)now its formula everytime i am not available and my lb is happy.
I introduced Nan1 so he will be okay when i go back to work and so far there has been no tummy trouble.
I am still at home so it's exclusive breast during the day and 100ml formula at night.
he is now 11wks and is weighing 5.4kg and he likes the pigeon teats not the avent or nuk.

@bundle of Joy,hello nice chatting to u after the losing connection on PF.

My TK is a month old now and I introduced a bottle already. He doesn't seem to be confused yet B) .I give it to him during breastfeeding.I feed him on one breast, burp him, give a bottle for a short while then change him to the other breast.

Hi there

Try to express milk in the morning after your feed or during as it is in the morning that we have the most milk. If you stop feeding at a certain feed your body will stop producing milk for that feed. It is amazing but I would feed in the morning go to work all day and at 6 my milk would come in for the evening feed. Please chat to justine and you can visit anytime. I actually went to her twice a month until Dylan was 3 months old.
