Help- I'm officially a cloth nappy user!!

Quick question re nappy covers...Skye is feeling very damp lately but her nappy isn't totally wet. I know the nappy covers allow evaporation but her clothes feel very damp lately. I'm thinking humidity is not allowing as much evaporation? Buying new covers is not an option right now (no money!!), but most of my covers are 2nd hand...do you think this could be the issue? I don't see mush of a difference in dampness in the new or 2nd hand covers

MistyMom, I would use something like Tripple Orange or GNLD products or the Blou Blommetjies liquid. Steer clear of baby products, they are all full or soap and softeners. It is the most ideal to use a 100% soap free product always. I use Biowashball but most of the ladies I've found still havn't realised it's potential and are still hampered by it's cost even though you save R1000's each year.

2KM - I did not realise the soya based softener would be OK. Thanks !! You learn everday!

Misty - I am not 100% sure but I think the Eliz Anne's does have softener already built in, so I would be careful of that one. The other ladies may have a better idea though!

Is anybody using the bambino mio nappies? If so:

A) what do you use to wash them? Will the elizabeth annes washing liquid do? I know not to use stay soft

b) what nappy liners are you using?

better be safe than sorry Lucyw. just a word thoug the woolies detergent has a natural softener which is not soap based so it wont damage your nappies or stunt the absorbtion. It's soya based.
