Help- I'm officially a cloth nappy user!!

I was just wondering, with their stuff being on such a big sale and not all the products are available on their website. I wanted to get swim nappies but they only have XL.

My one new Stegi cover ripped yesterday as well. Most unimpressed. I still prefer the Stegi nappy though, and they fit inside a BM cover so I think I will buy BM covers. I have 2 of the next size BM covers and they are too big for now, but I think I will buy them one a month I didn't hear anything about Stegi closing down...where did you hear that?

Sarah, I loved the Stegi covers with Stefan, but now that I'm trying to re-use them with Claudia, they are just not cool. So I think your problem is with them being second hand. All Stefan's BM covers are still fine and it looks like they will be good for a third baby as well. So maybe try and buy one BM cover a month for future use. I find that they are much better quality.

Stefan has been in large covers for over 6 months now, and all the Stegi ones (bought new) have ripped and are leaking badly. It seems to be the lining on the inside that is just perishing. And they get stained after one poo. I hate his Stegi covers at the moment, I only use them when I know its only going to be 30 min before bath time or something like that. His BM covers are lasting and lasting and lasting. So I would really reccomend getting them instead.

By the way, is Stegi closing down?

Still having a damp baby, but it seems to be when I use BM nappies. They don't seem to absorb as much as the Stegi on my little monkey.

I tried a BM nappy with a Stegi cover and it worked fine

Hope you are coming right with the damp covers...I have never had that problem, if the nappy leaks it, the cover is usually soaked as are her clothes. Though it seems to be happening less, maybe she has grown into this size a bit better.

I see Earthbabies are having a sale on the stegi covers...how well do those covers work with the BM nappy? At that price I'm tempted to add a few covers as only having three for each size can be a bit tricky.

I'm in Pretoria. I had Skye in a terry nappy with a Stegi cover and she was dry for ages (almost 4 hours whilst we were out for the school run!), but with a Stegi nappy she starts to feel damp within about an hr. It doesn't bother me right now, I'm just worried about winter if she gets damp and then cold.

Edited to add I'm using Stegi and Bambino Mio...BM seems to be better quality

Hi Sarah, I have to say I only ever experience this problem with the mother nature covers that I bought new. It's my experience that eventhough I don't soak them they don't really last that long and the dampness definately goes onto the clothes. I have not really had this happen with the stegi proofs. I have not used the Bambino Mio yet so I can't say. It could be a humidity issue though like you say. you live in Durban don't you?
