file Feeding your baby BLW style

Hey Bronz and thanks for the add on fb ;)

Oh and don't even start me on exams, luckily only have 2 left of the 5!

We are doing very well. B's been in playschool now for a year and has been doing much better since they moved her to the potties in Feb/March (18/19 months) The 'baby' class (zero to two years) are spoon fed and she hated that but the 2 year olds have chairs and spoons which she loves. She's now 2 years 3 months, only wears a nappy at night, talks too much and has become quite the social butterfly recently. I am left speechless nearly daily!

According to the school she eats very well (breakfast and lunch) but that means that she's had her 'big' meal for the day and usually only picks at dinner, but I'm not too fussed since it's habit now to cook. Weekends, if I'm prepared but the weekends just sneak up on me! she'll eat anything we give her but has a distinct thing for 2min noodles which I'm not proud of and should replace with better pasta if pasta is her thing but between the working, studying etc (you know how it goes) I've turned into a very scarily blasè person with both food and totschool.

SO not proud of myself at the moment, but building a bridge and hopefully getting over it soon! :D Have the whole of December to work up a new game plan for the new year since playschool is closed from 14 Dec - 9 Jan!

Hey hey

Things are going well with us. G does not like me spoon feeding him anything besides noodles.

He is still not hugely keen on veggies besides a few, but I dont mind too much because of the amount of fruit he eats. I unfortunately cant give him certain very messy foods as we dont have a high chair at the moment, so anything messy he eats and then spills every where. Need to invest in a rent a dog, hehe.

What he eats:
breakfast: Toast with cheese spread / fish paste / cream cheese and a fruit or scrambled eggs or wheatbix.
Snacks: fruit, biscuits, yogurt (he goes through phases of liking it),
Lunch: sausage / chicken nuggets / egg (some protein), fruit, corn cakes / provita. or a sarmie of sorts.
Supper: Generally what ever we have.

Must try harder to get some veggies in him. Although one thing he loves is my veg and lentil soup. Will have a huge bowl.

I want to try cook some butternut and haddock fritters this week, but I have been a bit preoccupied lately with the exams.

He is long and lean now. 'Under' weight and over tall. :P

How are things going your side Marijke?

Hello fellow BLW mommies!

Was wondering how all the BLW babies are doing and if we have any new mommies who are trying BLW?

Give us an update on how everything is going and to the older BLW babies (who are running around toddlers now! - how are they eating, any really fussy eaters out there, or those who still love their BLW ways?)

Well this week-end was SO much fun with Kate!

We were at a dinner party, and all the guests were beyond amaized thaat our little 5 month old was pulling my bowl of curry soup towards her mouth and munching away! They even filmed it.
She also had some pesto and sundried tomato on crackerbread. Its really so wonderful to see, and I really hope she keeps it up :)
The one guest commented that she raised her one child on basically whatever was at the table with them - and the other was cerels and purity. The first will try everything and the cerel one is 14 and still refuses to try anything new!

Missesmom, not sure if the eating well is BLW or genetics, her daddy will eat anything and everything :)

Well Kate is becoming very excited when we are eating or drinking, I think this was one of the signs that they may be ready for solids. She still looks too small to me to eat eat, but we'll see :)

Niki it must be so lovely to have a little one who enjoys fruit, trying to get Em to try anything new is like getting water from a rock!
