Thanks Gloei!

Don't know if it was mentioned here but I know a mom who had a vba2c home waterbirth the other day and baby girl was born at 5.2kg's! Not a single tear! I'm in awe!

Hi girls,

Me again, back for my second chance at a vbac and so excited! 13 weeks preggies now so still a while to go. Went to the doctor at 9 weeks and she was like "you know how this is going to go, call me when you are in labour, I expect this one to just walk out"

So will only see the doc again at 24 weeks and I'd think that would be the last if I don't go into labour before 40/41 weeks. Still deciding if we want our midwife present again or not as the policy has changed at Vincent Palotti with regards to private midwives and vbacs but we'll see how it goes!

Ladies, those who have used a private midwife and delivered at Genesis (used Medical Aid)...I need some advice.

I pay my midwife cash and claim from the medical aid. Only had one consultation with her thus far. So when I claimed from my medical aid I only got like half of the funds back. So enquired with them and they had to end up calling the midwife to understand her codes. I have a maternity benefit on my medical aid...so my ante-natal care consultations are supposed to come from there (not from my day-to-day benefit amount - which currently they did).

The explanation I could get from my medical aid after they spoke to my midwife was that the charge code is for an hour's consultation and that she will not change the code to a 30 minute consultation (which will then only come from my maternity benefit). I have not had the chance to call her and hear what she has to say...tried giving her a call however, no answer.

So ladies...I wanted to know typically how long where or are your visits with your midwives and where you able to claim from your medical aid (from the maternity benefit - if you had/have on your med aid).
