Ladies, she's here, arrived at 40 weeks 1 day, completely unmedicated, natural birth. I can't believe I did it. Will post more details as soon as I can.

@gloeiwurmpie, I definitely feel like I took the right decision, and I was so pleasantly surprised by my midwives' support. Crossing fingers that I go into spontaneous labour before my 41 week appointment next week Friday.

Kiki, I think I would have opted to wait a few more days too. I am so glad your midwife is supportive of your choice. Keeping my fingers crossed that your baby will arrive soon!!

Well ladies, I've just returned from my 39w6d appointment and declined a membrane sweep and a cervix check. My midwife just said, "sure, whatever makes you comfortable". I told her we could try at 41 weeks if I hadn't gone into labour by then and she casually said "sure, we can check the cervix and try a sweep at 41 weeks and give you a few days to see if the body reacts, if not, we'll look into a foley bulb induction". I love her.

The sweep didn't really do much, but then again if I hadn't had the cerclage maybe it would have triggered labour. I had a few contractions after it, but they faded away by the next day. I still went 6 days after it before giving birth.
It wasn't bad, but midwife said she did it lightly, so it was just uncomfortable, not like painful.
My situation was a bit weird because after removing the cerclage, baby dropped really really low, midwife could literally circle baby's head....but it was like there's really this tissue she can't get through, so actually that's what led to the sweep. But later midwife said it was probably baby's size, we thought she'll be 3.2kg and she was 3.9kg so when she came out it was like ooooh so that's why she took her time :) trying to fit herself through haha

Kiki yes I had it at 40 weeks, but remember I had removed a cervical cerclage 3 weeks before that, so I had "stiff tissue" that could have led to delays that wouldn't be there without the cerclage. I wouldn't have had it otherwise. I actually asked for a VE like in every consultation
