My very first IVF!

As i understood yesterday the retrieval takes about 20 min. Our travel time to the clinic is about 20 to 25 min. They said we have enough time. When i go on Monday i'll discuss the times in detail with the FS and make sure that we plan correctly.

I'm just relieved that it is possible

How will it work with doing the sample at home and getting to retrieval? Will they keep it at a set temperature once it has arrived?

@ Chanti i do not know if its my imagination but i have been having small twitching pains since this morning. Further nothing much!

So i forgot to tell you that we received a special condom yesterday at the clinic for DH sample The plan is to get the sample at home and then drive directly to the clinic. According to them there is enough time.

How long before the little swimmers starts to die in lab?

@Leez - Good luck with the transfer!! Let us know how many you transfer. Praying for sticky babies Did your Dr advise that you stay over after transfer? We also have about a 250km trip to the Dr each time, so its 500km round trip..

@Ladysa - Praying that ur two little embies keep growing!!! Most ladies I know with two embies transferred on Day 3 ended up with twins! Don't stress and pamper yourself a little!

@Liza - 7 Sleeps!!! U feeling any diff after your first injection yet?

@ Liza, i was on a low protocol dose. and 1 injection per day for 5days, then for 3 days 2 injections, and last 1 day day 3 injections the third being the trigger. I clenched my nails into my palms to not have to concentrate on the initial poke and looked away, i could not do it myself, too much of a chicken. its not the nicest knowing you have to do it, but take comfort in that you are doing all this to get your little miracle. people like us, just have a more of a hurdle to get through to the end result.

@ Leez, im so excited!! good luck! its going to be great and a mini holiday for all this traveling and money spent, when you have ur little bundle, he/she must really become someone with a high paying job lol and send you and hubby on overseas trips many times a year well that's what i say to hubby when we talk of all the bills and driving and and and...

from my side:
the clinic called yesterday. 2 fertilized, 2 were bad, 2 were unclear.
i could not even sleep last night, worried about today and that only 2 were sure.
early this morning they called saying that the 2 were dividing and the ET is tomorrow morning. i expected Friday so it is soon i guess? but i will call the clinic later. Im for now just relieved to have some instead of zero! so thank the lord for that.
the progesterone suppositories are grose. but what can we do.

So blessed with all the rain that we have been getting since last night!

From my side, did my first injection yesterday. I was so scared i almost cried. Was actually so unnecessary to be that scared as it was not sore at all. Not even a burn or bruise! Luckily hubby knows how to do the injection thing and did not need any teaching. I just shut my eyes and let him be!

I promise you by the end of this, you will be a pro with injections! My first one was bad, cause you're shaky and unsure, but I know once you've done it, the next one will be a breeze!

Using a clinic in Bloem, but we have to travel there every time (about 200km). So the IVF process has really been very exhausting for us and more costly with all the traveling. Luckily my work has been so supportive and understanding so the time off has not been something else to stress about!
