Ah Babyshoes, congratulations on Luke's birthday - sounds like it was a very emotional day. Doctors can sometimes make things sound really scary - and it IS scary when it comes to your little boy. Are there no exercises you could do with him in the meantime - pretend you're playing games with him and try get him to get those outside muscles to work a bit? Maybe once they start working they'll carry on working on their own? But I can tell you this: the level of opthalmology in this country is very high, and they will do whatever they can to fix it (if they even need to intervene). So have faith in your doc. Are you in Joburg? Who did you go to? Sometimes it helps to go for a second opinion as well, just to put your mind at ease and to hear another side of things.
Beansmom, how're things at home without You You? One of my really good friends took her kid to a daymother for a few years, and she was really happy with the set-up. If you can find a good one then you really get the best of both worlds - Tayla interacts with other kids and gets that extra stimulation in a controlled environment, and on the other hand it's also like she's at home because there are only a few kids. Like one big happy family
Just a bit off the topic, from your post I gathered that you and I both matriculated in 95, so I was wondering if that's where you and Debbie met?
Bronz did you have any luck with applying for a supplementary?
Jacadebra, I miss your posts! They are working you too hard over there. How's work going? And how are the kids settling into the new arrangement?
Claudia_B, Emily also went through a rough sleeping patch during the day. However, she has cut two molars, so I reckon it's that. She has been incredibly miserable and a right moaner during the day too. Damn I'll be glad when this teething thing is at an end.
Des, how're you feeling? Not too long to go now. How's Connor doing? I guess he's a bit young to understand what's going on, hey? He's going to love having brother so close in age!!
Things here haven't slowed down. I've fallen behind with my research (again), and work has been rather demanding. However, there will be a bit of a break happening, as we're off to Durbs on Friday for the Comrades and then go to the Pilanesburg on Monday, so at least we'll have some time out - as long as I can leave the laptop at home (but being so far behind I might land up taking it along).
