HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUKE!!! Well done Babyshoes!
Sorry you had to go through a stressful day on his birthday. At least you know what is the issue, so its now just a case of seeing what can be done. I hope its nothing serious that needs to be done to correct.

Beansmom: Its not cool that You You did a runner on you. And she was so good. :( I LOVE the idea of a kids party for an adult. (I may steal it.) I am happy to hear the business is doing well though.

Claudia: Graeme's day sleeps are also a mission. He has gone down to one nap for sure now. I either have to boob him to sleep (which doesn't always work and is counterproductive as I am trying to wean) or he has to be very tired and fighting it, then we can rock him down.

I was naughty/ lazy about a week ago, and wanted G down quick, so gave him the boob. Well we are back to about an hour to go to sleep on his own.

Desiree: Congrats on team blue! It is great the boys being so close in age, they will be the best of buddies.

I have been so busy with exams at the mo. But I must tell you I messed up BIG time. I thought 2 Afrikaans exams were on the Tuesday, so went to doc to get sick note to bunk. Got home and found out they were on the Monday.... I have no idea what I will do, Prob have to redo the entire 2 modules.

Oh Graeme took his steps. :) He has been walking one handed confidently for a few weeks now. And then 2 days ago he took those first few tentative steps.

haha, Debbie I cant remember your nickname. How is the job going? how are your munchkins doing?

Hope you ladies have a great weekend. :)

Hello Mommies....

Today was Luke's 1st Birthday! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: So a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him!!!

I took him to the Ophthalmologist (eye specialist) this morning and he needs to go back again on the 23rd of June for another check up.

The DR mentioned the condition in his left eye - but I was so shocked I cant even remember what it is called... Basically he has not got a lazy eye, his muscle in his right eye (the good eye) is working overtime and he is only using this eye to focus on things and his left eye (the eye that has the squint in it) is not working or focusing at all - (because Luke is so young, Luke also does not know how to make the left eye work), and the muscle on the inside of his left eye is doing more work than the muscle on the outside of his left eye. He needs to do a few more tests to determine if Luke needs to go for an operation or not or if we can work on fixing his eye with exercises, patching or special eye drops...

After leaving the DR, I was a wreck and just burst out crying when I arrived at my brothers business... it was just alot for me to take in at once and this on his special day, yet I am a bit more at ease knowing what is wrong and just hoping and praying that it will be able to be sorted out...

Hope you all have a stunning weekend!

x

@ClaudiaB - I "chose" to ignore my 30th birthday as well.. and actually requested to climb into bed the night before and be woken when the day was over :) My husband wouldn't have any of that... so he organised a surprise dinner... nothing huge, just my closest friends at a pizza place... It was a nice evening and we were home before 12 which is just how I wanted it. It had been a rather HECTIC year for me (4 years ago!)

@Scribblingal - I totally agree with you... there is absolutely no way I can get ANYTHING done when I'm looking after Tayla on my own. These last 2 weeks without You You have been a total nightmare for me. My niece helps out on the odd occassion but for R20 an hour, so i have to work my butt off when we call her in.

We've had to relook at the daytime situation for Tayla since You You decided to do a runner on us... So it has been major discussions and turmoil on my side whether to go daymother or nanny. Hubby is totally against another nanny in case she goes AWOL again and I'm stranded with loads of orders... so we are going for an interview at a daymother on Thursday that only takes 3 toddlers Tayla's age. Big decision for me because I was so anti daymothers until she was 18 months/2 years... but I do get his take on it. They are rather pricey - but we've decided if it is good care and the right spot - it is worth it to pay for our precious cargo :)
As much as I love her and the time we have together - i could NEVER be a full time housewife/mom... it is damn hard work and just not stimulating enough for me at all! I am feeling so frustrated with just baby baby baby!

Anyway - that is my little rant... let me get dishing up and relaxing!

Happy Voting tom all!

Hey ladies...
@ Scribblingal how old (young) are you if you dont mind me asking? Gosh as for needing a time out, I dont blame you - I love it when I go the hospital or see out patients, it gives me some sanity back. I would go bonkers being at home all day!

I'm only 30 next year, but think I might skip that birthday.

James is also walking short distances now, but day time sleeps ahve become all out WAR. He is going down so well at night - no rocking, just book, switch of light, sing a song and into cot, but ive resorted to daytime sleeps in his pram and have to push him round the garden for ages to get him to sleep. If I even try take him to his room he screams!

Hi girls...above is a link to the pics from my fetal assessment scan today @ 23 weeks. Everything is 100%....and we are definitely adding to Team Blue...a little brother on the way for Connor!! I am still feeling hundreds, still having heartburn, but otherwise, no issues.

On the Connor front... I can't quite tell how many teeth he has now, lol, the top 2 and bottom 2 have been out for ages, then he has all these white bits sticking out all the way int he back of his mouth on all sides...so looks like he's getting molars? is that possible? thought for sure the ones next tot he top and bottom 2 would be out next? oh well....

He's still doing SO well with my mom here....hasn't been sick at all, and is doing brilliantly developmentally! He can point out the clock, his fave cow, the ball, eggs...and bread.....a bike and a car.....and a whooooole load of other pics if I ask him to show me where the "cow" is....lol - he mimics the sounds I make.....and is really developing such a little personality....loving my little monkey!! He's still doing 6 -7 solo steps at a time, so no long distance walking just yet....but he's basically doing the necessary!!

Alison....do NOT feel guilty, if I had any days off, I would also spend them galavanting around...gosh that would be nice right about now!!

Ok, off to do work ... chat again soon!!

My beautiful baby boy, Connor Troy, was born on 20 March 2010 and my 2nd gorgeous boy, Cullen Reece, was born on 2 September 2011 - I am very blessed indeed
