Morning Ladies,

Welcome Pinky - we have the exact age gape. Jamie was 17 months on the 27th of September.

Well last night went well. Gave Jamie his full bottle of milk about a hour before bedtime, he then fell a sleep in between us on the couch, put him into his bed and he was out. He woke up at 1am, I climbed into his bed, gave him the water, he had two sips, groaned and pushed the bottle away but then he just turned around and fell a sleep again. I went and got back into bed. At 3am he was awake again, climbed into bed with him again, gave him the water, he had about 3 sips, groaned and pushed the bottle away, turned around and went back to sleep so I got back into bed. At 4.45 he was up, but we put him into our bed for his morning milk bottle, he finshed it in 3 minutes flat! But fell a sleep after it again and only woke up at 6.30. SO all in all a good night. Hopefully he will realise that there is no sense in waking up if he is only going to get water!

I also sent him to school today with a sippy cup with oros, and the bottle filled with Tea. I called the Teacher and explained why, and she was very supportive and said she understands where I am coming from and will help where she can.

So very happy to report weaning day 2 went well....now day 3 with the tea is going to be interesting. Give you an update tomorrow again about how it went at school with the Tea bottle.

Have a great day.

Hi ladies

I thought about joining your thread as I am expecting another little one in March... about 14 weeks now... I think...

This pregnancy is much more relaxed than the first one, yet so much worse with nausea and headaches and thrush... etc... maybe it is a boy? Will hopefully see at our next appointment!

My little girl is now 17 months... I see there is quite a few of you with the same age... and also struggling with the weaning from the bottle thing... I have given up for the time being... if she is still on the bottle when the other one comes... so be it... just have to buy new bottles for baby!!

Nice meeting all of you through some of your posts!

Have a great day!

Hi girls

i just received this e-mail from a friend of mine. It is the same that happened to Zelf a week or so ago. So just be carefull when you go to the shops with your children.

HI

Guys, I know some of you do not have kids but I believe you come from a family or a neighborhood where you can warn a parent of that little kid that you don't even know his or her name, but you always smile when you look at them, because their innocence touch your heart so softly...

A Friend just called me after listening to the Redi Direko show on 702 this morning and I had to pass on the details so that we are all aware of how much we need to protect our little ones.

Apparently a man called into the show this morning in quite a panic as he had just been to the Centurion Mall with his wife and daughter. His wife was busy shopping in the Woolworths when her 5 year old daughter noticed an asian looking man watching her very intently. He was looking this little girl up and down, whilst taking pictures of her on his Blackberry and talking to someone. The mother noticed another asian man standing behind the little girl and it was clear they were communicating about her child. In a panic, she grabbed her daughter and called her husband to the Woolworths as he was luckily only 5 minutes away.

As it turns out, there were a group of 5 asian men in the store all plotting to kidnap this little 5 year old girl and take her who knows where! Imagine if the mother had turned her back and hadnt noticed these men! This is not the first story I have heard happening at Centurion Mall involving attempted kidnappings of little ones. Obviously it happens all over but to me it seems to be on the increase.

PLEASE be aware of your little ones and if possible, dont take them to the shops at all. The police advise that if something like this happens, DO NOT run to your car as you will be isolated but rather migrate to where there will be lots of people surrounding you.

These people are vicious predators of our innocent little ones and its all we can do to protect them.

Thanks for reading this and please pass on to all those who have children.

Amanda - yes, I am that mommy. I work in Bryanston and live in Centurion, so about 1 to 1 and a half hours commute to work and then the same home. I start work early and sometimes have to stay late. DH tries his best but he doesn't have the patience. Like today I am working late again. DH will fetch Jamie but has to take him to site till he is done, so we will both get home at 6, that is why routine is so difficult for us. But we try and manage.
Jamie doesn't like juice, he prefers Oros, so I send about 150 ml to school a day, but he only drinks about 50ml of it.

P.s. I use half a teaspoon of brown sugar in a cup of rooibos tea for Dieter (the rooibos/strawberry mix by Purity).

Juice I give him the Ceres one which is mixed with rooibos so no diluting required.
