Jan/Feb/Mrch 2012 Momies to Be

I am not really a routine mom. Jamie usually lets me in on his routine. I am a stickler for discipline but when it comes to routine, he usually lets me have it. It works, but not at night, that is where I struggle. I am going to try getting into a routine. Jamie usually is a sleep at 7h30 in anyway. Then sleeps till about 1h00 and then gets into bed with us till 5h30. When he gets into bed with us, he falls a sleep immediately and sleeps through to 5h30. So it isn't like he won't sleep, he just prefers me in the bed after 1h00.

Maureen we all do parenting differently. You must do what suites you and DH. I am a stickler for routine. MG has dinner at 5pm, she then plays and has a story read to her until 6pm when it is bath time. She then says goodnight to everyone. One of us will then give her the bottle in the chair in her room with only the night light on. Then she is asleep by 7pm. She then sleeps (until these last 2 days) until 6am. This has worked for us, we got her into this routine from birth. I used to give her breast at 5pm, bath at 6pm, top up and then bed. Shiloe was the same and even now at 9 years old she goes to bed at 7.30pm, by 7.15pm she tells us she is going to bed cause she is tired.
I wish sometimes MG was interested in the TV, she wont even look at it when it is on

Juandre - it sounds so nice, a weekend away! I wish we could do the same. You are so lucky with your little one sleeping through. We had that for about 2 months and none so far, just every now and then does Jamie do that for us! At least I will be prepared come January, of waking up the whole time!

So I read the article in the living and loving on sleep plans, and my word, I am such a bad mother or that is what I feel like, the article goes on about routine, no tv, no sugar....and .... and.... and Well so much for that. I will try my own way, at some point it should start working, right???

How many girls and boys do we have now? It sounds like the girls are out weighing the boys???

Zel- so sorry you had a terrible weekend with Janu in hospital. Neither of my girls have had to be admitted but it must be so horrible

Maureen- I am also one of those very fertile ladies, have fallen pregnant the first month with all three so I always feel so guilty when I hear about ladies that struggle.

I think my little girl is ready to drop her morning nap. The last two nights have been horendous... She has been up from 2am, wide awake... not crying or moaning just wise awake and wont go back to sleep no matter what we do. So I am soooooo exhausted. She has been sleeping through since she was 3 months old and we have only had a handful of bad nights so these last two nights have been terrible. I tried leaving her in her cot but she woke Shiloe up, Ive tried standing next to her cot with my hand on her- she lies there until I move away and then shouts again. I spent 2 hours sitting in the chair in the room with her in my arms- she just lies there in the dark staring at me and playing with my PJ's, then I put her in our bed and she just rolls around. Last night before bed I gave her neurophen incase it was her teeth waking her. So I have now said no more morning nap, she can have lunch at 12.00 and then a nap. Hopefully this will work.

Three sleeps until we fly to JHB for our weekend at Monte Casino!!!! Cant wait to see River Dance and just to be in the fancy hotel away from all the mess at home. BTW- our house should be finished by tomorrow!!!!

Carlene - It is me and Jamie, I am not to sure about the other ladies. Congrats on the girl! So it is the 15th?

Morning ladies. Gggeeee, it is busy here today. It is the beginning of month end, so I don’t have al lot of time to chat.

9h30 is fine with me.
I will try and book a table for us. If I’m not mistaken, it will be the four of us and how many kids?

Well, my scan went well. It is still a girl and we are very happy. Dr is also happy and said everything looks fine. Will try and post a pic later on.
