Morning,

Welcome Pinky. Congrats on the pregnancy. Hope the MS will go away quickly. This time around my MS was also worst that my previous pregnancy.

Well girls, you make me feel very guilty… :S But Zel, like you said, all the bad habits of our children is mostly our fault. I really worried about weaning my LG from her bottles, but she weaned herself from most of her bottle feeds. She was of her night feed by 7 months and by 1year she dropped her early morning feed as well. Then after a year she dropped her morning nap with that bottle. She still likes her milk before she goes to sleep in the afternoon and after her bath in the evening. During the day she will drink her water and sometimes juice out of an oros bottle. I tried the sippy cups and she use to drink out of the one with the straw, but she likes her oros bottles most. BUT, she still wants her milk out of her bottle. But then again, I feel, she is not walking around with the bottle. She will take her “bottie” to her dad and will then sits on his lap and drink her milk, after her bath. So she is not going to bed with the bottle. So I leave her alone. But I have another problem. Her eating habbits. :( That suddenly change after about 20months, or shall I say, when she realized that she also got a will and a say. Now if I give her something to eat, she will just say, “Emma kan nie dit eet nie”. Last night I ask her what she wants for supper, and she said a cupcake. I told her she must first eat some food. I ask her if she wants what we are having and she said yes. Well, it ended up in a big fight and lots of tears. So she asked for a cupcake again and I said NO. Then she asked for a “warm worsie” which is the braai wors we had on Saturday. And all I had was Vienna’s so I head that up. Luckily she ate the whole thing. Later on she asked me for chips, and I said no, and then she had 2 yogurts instead. It is such a struggle just to get her to eat something, and I know if maybe I stop to give her milk she will maybe eat better, but she gets her bottle about an hour after her supper. And her lunch is at 12h already. But hey, she is healthy, so maybe she is just a small eater.

Well, hopefully this babywill be better with the eating habbits. But then again, my mom said that me and my brother was also not very big eaters, and we are perfectly healthy. But any suggestion on how to get her to eat veggies. Next year she must go to school and she can’t be fussy there. Or maybe it will be something like “monkey see, monkey do” I hope so.

I must get back to work. Enjoy the day.

Zel - I had a friend that spotted her whole pregnancy and both she and baby where fine. As for the trolley thing, to much effort, Jamie won't sit down, so we still use the stroller except the little guy has learnt how to undo the latches...so we watch him like a hawk, also have him in the reigns most of the time. As we can strap them into the stroller as well.

As for names, we have decide on the first, Reagan (pronounced Raygan) then second we were happy with Alexander but now don't know anymore. It would have been Reagan Alexander de Kock. So now we are missing a second name any suggestion ladies?

Vision, I am still spotting. Gynae saw something on Tuesday which might cause the bleeding, it looks like a bump on the side of the uterus. But he said it is not something to worry about, so I am not going to. And yes, thanks , feeling better, I think my system is used to the extra progesterone now. And unfortunately, no name yet! We had one name on the shortlist over the weekend, which I keep repeating to myself, must check with DH if he still likes it!
I am trying to put the kids in a trolley - to keep them from running around. But I think sometimes people just laughs at us! I can't pick Ewan up anymore, he is too heavy, so he climbs into the trolley himself - you just see legs and arms waving, head first into the trolley! Janu is at that stage where he wont/cant ;) sit still, so he keeps standing up in the front seat with me trying to keep him down the whole time! ( I even asked my hubby this weekend if there isn't anything that we can strap him down with! ) I am exhausted after buying bread and milk! So I try to go to the shops before I pick them up from school, but not always possible!

Morning Ladies

maureen well done on staying strong - sounds like your LB is adapting really well - lets hope it goes well at school too!
those are hectic hours you work and I can just imagine how horrible the traffic is!!!

Zelf i am very bad in the shops with my lg - she runs away from me all the time. I really need to be more strict and just ignore the tantrum crying - better than someone grabbing her.
I am so glad your gynae visit went well - has the bleeding stopped? Are you feeling better? Wow booking bed already that is amazing - time is going by so fast!!!
Any names yet for your LG

Pinky welcome so nice to have you join us - I am also due in March... SOrry about all the troubles - I have also had hectic MS and headaches this time around.

Carlene thank you for that story - hectic how brave/stupid they are to do it in broad daylight in a busy shop like Woolies!!!
Your scan pics are stunning!!!

AmandaS love all of your cups you got for your LB :)

Felt terrible yesterday - got such a bad headache again but feel better today which is a good thing. One of my friend's lb had a seizure on Tuesday - he is 20 months and has to go for a cat scan and lumbar puncture... Taking them a meal tonight to help out.
I tried to eat a piece of fish last night and it did not go down well - was doing so well not having any aversions to food but oh well :)

Zel - very true the bad habits are just what we do to make our lives a bit easier. With this new baby I will try and avoid the bad habits, so that I don't have to go through this again! I really like the type of work I do, I just don't like the company and some of the people. I think it would be easier if I could get a job closer to home, but that will happen when it happens. I am going to book my bed on the 12th of October, it feels so soon. Good luck with today.

Hi!

Welcome Pinky! Where do you stay? Hopefully all the niggles will disappear soon!

Well done Maureen! Most of the times the childrens' bad habits is our faults - because we let them because it is easier for us! I must say it took us 3 days with every change, then the boys were happy and content. So hang in there, it's going very well! We follow the feeding plan of our clinic sister, and stay with it for my own sanity! No milk during the night from 6 months, tea and juice never from a bottle but only from a cup/sippycup etc.

Thanks for posting that story Carlene. I hope it helps to make us all more aware of what is going on. I do not know if you are like me, but I'm vigilant, but then if nothing happens for a while, or you do not hear any scary stories, I get more relaxed.

Ai Maureen, my hart goes out to you! I used to work like that, and then after Ewan was born, I decided I do not want to do it anymore. But it went on like that. When I was pregnant with Janu, I decided enough is enough, and discussed it with DH. He told me he was fed up with the situation a long time ago, but waited for me to make that decision myself - so I couldn't blame him if it did not work out. So after alot of drama and tears(with one very understanding director, and one not at all) I took a salary cut and now only work from 8-1. There is still some days that I stay late, or work at home, but I made mind change - my family comes first. But we are in a very lucky position that my DH got a decent raise, and has a stable job. My wish for you is that your DH business will soon be at a stage where he can support you!

Juandre, when are you leaving for your weekend away? It sounds so exciting! Is your house done?

All went well at the Gynae on Tuesday, LG is growing nicely. I have to go and book my hospital bed this afternoon - yikes - time is flying!!
