Oh, went for my 36wk chec today (took my mom with for a change)
McK weighs 2.17kg and looks to be 3.1/3.2kg at birth

I was meant to go off from next Fri, but due to everything thats happened, she has writen me off from Fri, so only 2 days left (but that means only 2 days handover, instead of 2 weeks!)

Doc gave me a tranqueliser for yesterday and I was still a mess (haven't been able to go to sleep before 04h00 each morning)

As for my shower - DH told me my SIL & mom were organising a little party for the 21st, but asked how I felt - so we've decided to do it after McK comes - too difficult to arrange now (esp for my mom)
Thankfully D has been her saving grace!! She just wants her Granny and gives her the biggest, longest hugs ever (I get jealous!) and is really taking my mom's mind off things - such a blessing

2 of my bosses are in Jhb now (had to do their trips on Mon!) so haven't had a chance to speak to them about leaving early, but the 1 boss was very cool about it, thankfully (my other boss texted me about work less than 2 hours after my dad passed and still emailed me things to do the day of the funeral!)
But the part that takes the cake is that I just got an email from a lady in my dept (who was meant to arrange my 'surprise shower' and asked me to find a venue as well as order some drinks & cakes for Fri ("as we would like to do something for you before you leave") WTF??!!

the funeral/memorial was yesterday at my mom's house
beautiful weather - no wind/clouds, birds singing non stop
over 70ppl came and wrote special messages which DH read out
Wow - DH has been the most amazing, incredible trhu all this, basically taking over everything - funeral, cremation, minister, helping my mom sort out bank things, to even spenidng til 23h00 each night planting flowers in my mom's garden to get the house ready for the funeral
He's been such a strength (when not even my dad's brothers wanted to read out the tributes)
I am so thankful and need to do something really special for DH to show him!

Hi everyone. I was off work Monday and yesterday cos I had my Shirodkar suture taken out on Monday. Nice to get back online and catch up on everyone's news.

@Robyn: So so sorry for your loss. It must be so awful to lose a parent. Especially suddenly & unexpectedly. Especially when you're so close to your due date and you would've loved your dad to meet the new baby. Praying for u and your family.

@Ginah:3.9kg's!!! wow! Glad baba has grown so nicely. I'm sure you can't wait to meet him!

@Mckim: one week overdue I'm sure you're tired of being preggy now. and the anticipation must be killing you! I'm sure every little twinge makes you wonder "is this it?" I know I'm already like that and I'm only 371/2 weeks!

@MonicaR: CONGRATULATIONS!!!! 1 week old already! wow, super exciting! So, how does it feel this time around? Do u feel more relaxed cos its your 2nd time? What are you doing differently with this baby? What lessons from baby no.1 have really helped with baba no.2? And I also wanna know how D is coping with new little sister? Is she at home or did u keep her at school so as not to disrupt her routine too much? And daddy? Is he excited about the new arrival? (Sorry about 20 questions )

@ZoeCat: Please never feel the need to defend your birth choice to anyone, especially not us. It's such a personal decision. No-one should make you feel bad about your decision because they are not going to give birth to your baby. You are. and it's your baby and your body. Glad baby is growing well.

@Joybaby, responded to your post on the vbac thread.

AFM: at Monday's appointment, baby weighed just over 3kg's at 37 weeks. She's head down and engaged. Looks like she'll weigh around the same as her sister at birth who was 3.55 kg's. I am 1cm dilated but cervix still long.Doc says he doesn't think I will reach 40 weeks but he obviously can't tell for sure. Friday is my last day at work so about 2 weeks at home before due date (depending on when baby decides to come)

@ Lauz - Congrats on 36 Weeks. We are exactly a week apart. I am officially 35 weeks today. Also please take it easy. Glad you enjoyed your baby shower. You must post some pics.

I had another baby shower on my girls weekend away, and they also dressed me up.
And had one again with the ladies at another office on Wednesday. Baby got lots and lots of clothes.

@ Joybaby - Welcome back. Glad work is keeping you busy and occupied. You also need your rest soon. Enjoy your baby shower, I'm sure you going to get spoilt.

@ Monica: Congrats on the birth of your little one. Enjoy.....and all the best.

I am very tired and exhausted today. Practically falling asleeep at my desk. The temp comes in next Thursday, so I will train her before I go off. I still need to pack my hospital bag. I will go through what I have today and see what I still need.
I received my Moms & Tots Bag yesterday from Dischem, I must say it's really pretty. And has a change mat attached to it.
My back pain is now constant and I cant sit for long periods at my desk or while driving. It feels better when i'm standing up, or laying on my right side.

Good Morning Ladies,
It has been quiet lately for me its because my husband, who is in IT, hogs the computer and to reply to everyone on the phone is a nightmare.

Had my baby shower on the weekend and it was really nice, had a few last minute cancellations which pissed me off considering my mom asked for them to let her know by the 1st due to it being at a restaurant. They dressed me up as a bee, I hate yellow on me because im so fair but I was obviously having a pretty day coz I looked and felt really good in my outfit. Surprisingly was spoilt with lots of clothes considering that we don’t know what baby is, and lots of baby products!

Went for my scan on Monday im 36 weeks today and baby is head down and pretty far down. Doc couldn’t even measure baby’s head but baby is averaging around 2kg she felt my belly though just to confirm baby’s size a little over 2kg’s. I have to really take it easy though for the next 2 weeks as my gynae is away and everyone reckons baba is coming early, hopefully not within the next 2 weeks I have a weird feeling it will be around the 28th!

@BettsF I have been very fortunate I am able to sleep right through excepting obviously when I need to get up to pee, id be a real bitch if I didn’t have my sleep – I just love my sleep.

@Mckkim has your lil man still not come? I hope so the wait would kill me!!!

@Robyn so sorry for your loss! Hope you take it easy and don’t bottle up those emotions, you don’t want it effecting baby. Hugs!

@Ginah Wow 3.9kg and only 5 days left if my calculations are correct, that’s a healthy little boy in there. Ive heard boys tend to be late comers and girls tend to arrive earlier, so I hope he comes on time.

@Zoecat baby is growing nicely, so you booked the day im due, you did say you were a pretty small person so maybe a c-section is the best decision and in the end as long as it is your decision and you are happy that’s all that matters.

@Monic@R congratulations so happy to hear both of you are doing well. Looking forward to seeing the pics of baby

@Joybaby so nice to hear from you. Baby is definitely growing nicely as well! Ill be holding thumbs though that everything works out for you and baby to have vbac. Hope you have a wonderful baby shower, nothing like being spoilt for a day!

Had our 33 week scan today.
Doc happy and all is well. A very different pregnancy to Kaylee!
She is currently weighing 2.4kgs and is still head down. Doc will see us at 36 weeks where he will do an internal and check pelvis shape, placenta location, and baby's position to determine if we can try for a vbac.
At the moment she is head down but not descending yet. Her placenta is all over the place, and a small part is next to her face, so doc would ideally want that away ie her further down or placenta further up. And he would want to see her head looking 'down' so that there is nice clearance into the birth canal, rather than chin up which can cause problems.
I'm feeling like a lot of odds stacked against us with this, but really hoping all will be well. Last time I couldnt get excited because K was always breech so it wasnt an issue, but this time around I'm very keen for my vbac so will be quite disappointed if I dont even get a try.

Work is going well. 3 weeks to go until I'm off. And then back 1st Feb, or earlier if baby comes early. Looks like they found a temp meantime. Havent signed a written contract yet, so will breath easier about next year once I do.
We will prob move closer to work to save on fuel money and rent a bigger place, and save on time commuting.
I must say I dont really tire at work, think its cos its mostly computer and paperwork, and my mind stays busy so I dont have time to get tired.
Weekends are a real challenge as Kaylee is busy, we have all the housework and socialising, and in between trying to sort out the rooms for baby.

I have my babyshower on Saturday. Will be fun I'm sure Excited to see who all comes!

Robyn first off I'm so sorry about your dads passing. Was it very sudden? Really sorry hun. Especially the memory that he will miss out on your daughter's birth

Monica so happy to see your update. I came on especially to see if there had been any news from you or the other September girls.
So glad all went well and baby arrived safely into this world. And that both you and her are doing well and recovering nicely.
How is your other LG handling the new arrival? Is she at home or have you maintained her school rountine?

McKim any news your side? Hopefully by now baby has arrived and you are home too.

Zoecat your LG will be a nice size at birth! And as you say, its your decision, you must be happy with it at the end of it. Just take all the painkillers when you can!
My gynae had a pethidine pump for his csec moms, which was nice as it was metered and every 7 minutes I could push the pump for small continuous doses.

Gina wowee 3.9 already! Hope you are at home getting some rest!

I must say I'm relieved I wont carry into the heat of summer! Just the few warmer Cpt days have been so hot for me!
