I literally have not bought a single thing for McK
Excuse is that I'm waiting to move into the big house so I can unpack all D's old things
and see what I have and what I need (no space for that in our current place!)
Most of D's baby things are still in very good condition, so won't need much on that front
but will start getting some of the consumables soon (nappies, wipes etc)

Some of my thoughts on JB's great list:

- Nipple Cream - I def agree, start early! I started a month or 2 before D was born and
didn't have a single issue with cracks or pain (but I did ensure D suckled properly - not
just the nipple - very NB!!) and Lansinoh is very good
- Jungle Juice / Black Thornberry Elixir - I remember how anal I was about having Jungle
Juice and how sick I got of drinking it every day! Then I went on to making my own
home-made Gingerbeer - delish (if anyone wants me to put up the recipe, it's so easy!)
- Sudocrem was also very good for D - def a good idea to try lots of different makes to see
what works best for your baby as everyones bum is different
- I want to get the Dummy Thermometer - will work alot easier than a normal one I'm sure!
- I also want to get McK a Sleeping Sack/Bag and her own Doodoo Blankey (D loves her
Baby Sense Taglet, but if that's not available, anything with a label will do - odd child! )
- Formula - I think we'll wait for McK's first Paed check as D had to have Nan HA (hypo-allergenic)
which is expensive, so don't want to spend that money if it's not necessary!
- Baby Wash - again D's paed suggested we use a specific make for sensitive skin (can't remember
the name now, but it starts with E and is in a white bottle with blue writing - can picture it now just
not the name!)
- Wipes - had to use warm water & cottonwool for D at first as all the wipes (even the 'fragrance-free'
ones) gave her a rash. Now I use Pigeon wipes

3 more weeks till my scan!! cant wait and then not too long to go before i go on Mat leave! i cant wait because i cant handle my boss moods anymore like this morning i was nearly in tears.

Started to get Mariné room ready last night packed all the clothes in the chest of drawers and the spoegdoeke and blankets and bedding is in the cupboard with everything else.
We are going to rearrange our room then after i wash all the bedding i want to make up the cot and move it to our room. having the made wash the mozzie net and carry cot this saturday.

JB will like to see K's outfit!!

i have minnie mouse decor still decide how im gonna use it for the moment thinking of going plain and then when she is a year doing my proper minnie mouse room!!

will post some pics when dh just need to put it on my memory stick from his camera.

do you think 11 receiving blankets is enough?
I've read that you must vaseline jelly for the 1ste poo nappies for there bums make it easier to wipe.

i was at my friend who had her c sec on Friday got to see the video everything and she is at the same hosp and gynea as myself so now i have an idea what to expect.

Bought K's birthday party outfit today I think its too cute, and will be perfect for summer. Its a denim babydoll top with a pink cotton cardigan over it, and a pair of ink blue skinny jeans and silver/grey polka dot pumps to go with it. It was expensive for my liking, but will be worn again many times.

The things I have so far for baby are: 1 bath towel, 2 receiving blankets, bottle brush, pack of bibs, 2 baby grows, one lightweight fleece grow.
The things on our wishlist / to get list are: (Some are a bit more luxurious since we have a lot from K already)
Digital ear thermometre
Baby sense cuddle wrap (they have a new one that has legs and has a fleece lining)
Spoegdoeke
3 bath towels
Teats for narrow / standard neck pigeon bottles
Baby sling (there's that african body wrap one but dont know the brand its awesome)
Nappies newborn and stage 1 & 2
Lactogen formula stage 1 & 2 (cheapest and equivalent to Nan) Plan on breastfeeding but depends on work situation after 2/3 months it'll not be full time b/f.
Lanisoh nipple cream (Please new moms start preparing your nipples 6 weeks before due date, either squeeze out collostrum and cover nipples with it, or start using a nipple cream as the first 6-12 weeks of breastfeeding your nipples crack a lot. Some go for nipple shields but K refused it.
Black Thornberry Elixir bottles (x lots) to start using 6 weeks before due date and continue making with jungle juice for breastfeeding.
Jungle juice ingredients (Energade concentrate; rescue drops; vita thion / cal c vita)
A few receiving blankets
Mommy treatment voucher for before or after birth .
Something nice for Kaylee
Toiletries: Johnson wipes (awesome quality / moisture). Will use the cheaper stuff once on solids but for the milk nappies you need something strong
Sudocrem bum cream - I swear by it for nappy rash!
Elizabeth Anne pump bottle baby body was - especially handy for before they can sit. (I am happy to use J&J body wash once they reach a year as their skins not as delicate and foams nicely).
Havent' thought further than the above but it's getting there!

I got my chest of drawers and the big spring clean has started, my maid pitched today so now we getting every part of the house sorted etc. she is coming on saturday then she must wash the carrycot and campcot and mozzie net i want to start with all her washing and pack it in the drawers and cupboard.

Had a lovely time at my mom the weekend was just over far to soon!! i even got pj's and a juicer!!
Me and dh getting our room sorted to make space for the campcot.

My maid know she is not in my good books so she must perform or she is out!!
We spoiled ourself with new bedding for our bedroom i just want to get blinds wasnt sure of the size so will go get some when we go to pta.
JB and Ginah mil is coming this week to have a look at exactly what i have and then she will tell the people what to buy.

i got the most adorable "spoegdoeke" from mil last night and i have 10 in total still waiting for 4 but she gave me the other last night.
mil is having her own babyroom so im gonna divide all the clothes etc between us so when i go to them i dont have to pack a nappy bag!!
3 more weeks before my scan cant wait will also book my bed etc.

Elamsmom - enjoy your scan! its as if dh just keeps pressing the wrong buttons, i try to make a effort to take it out on something else so when dh come home i have calmed.

@RobynC: Shame hun. Emotions are running high all around...Jeez, this pregnancy thing can be tough. I have been absolutely awful to my DH these past few weeks. I feel constantly irritated with everything, especially him I can see he is also taking strain but I cant seem to be able to stop myself.

Things will get better. Don't worry too much. Good on you for giving him some space to avoid things getting worse!

I am now 28wks1day. I have my 4D scan this afternoon at 3pm. Can't wait!!! I havent seen the baby since about 20weeks because i've moved from my gynae to a midwife. That reminds me that I need to ask midwife when I need to start going for 2 weekly visits. I think its 2weekly from 30-36 then every week from 36-40? Wow, I cant believe I am already almost at that stage!!!

@Joybaby: I am having the same fears about natural birth but I am forging full steam ahead! Everytime I have a cramp or any abdominal pain I think "crap! and labour is going to be SO much worse!" I try to use thise opportunities to see if i am able to relax, breath etc...

@Belaine: wow, you are really really blessed to have so many loving ppl around you showering u with baby stuff. You will have nothing left to put on gift registry for baby shower!!! Me, on the other hand, have still not bought anything for baby. The girls bedroom is ready but baby's cupboards are still empty i have decided I will really start shopping after today's scan.

@RobynC: sorry abt D's finger. These things happen hey. but i know how bad you must have felt!!!

@Ginah: Congrats on 3rd trimester!!! Starting a new job a few weeks before a new baby...could be quite hectic. But if it feels right, go for it! I'm a big believer in "bite off more than you can chew. Then chew like mad!!!" I have a preblem accepting that i have limitations

@ Robyn_C - Shame, don't be stressed. Hope DH is in a better mood today. And it was purely a mistake with D.


Update on my scan:

Baby weighs 711g and all is fine.

My C-section is scheduled for 10 October with Spinal.

Yes JB you right, my doc said that it will last for about 4 hours.

I'm gonna book the hospital bed tomorrow, I forgot to bring the note the doc gave me for hospital authorisation.

As for the Thyroid. Doc has stopped the Eltoxin completely. Will do another test at the end of the month to see if all is well.

Sleeping is very uncomfortable now, I wake up every time I have to turn, and when I go to the loo, and then I find myself lyin in bed for about 3 hours before falling off to sleep again. This morning I eventually fell asleep at 3h30 and couldnt get up at 6.

We bought the campcot on Saturday and DH assembled it and put it in the nursery.
I am so chuffed cos things are coming together slowly.
I can't beleive how fast time flies though, Oct will be here in no time.
