JB - I'm not that lucky, D goes around showing off her bandaged finger and saying
"Owie" to everyone she sees!!

And, as if things aren't stressed enough between me & DH, this whole renovation
is taking it's toll already (and it's only been 1 week!)
Shame, he's working really hard and I wanted to have a nice bath and supper ready
for him when he got home last night but time just got away from me
I bathed D and was busy trying to change her bandage when DH got home at 19h00
(and D was screaming her head off, which wasn't a good welcome home for DH)
DH walked straight to the kitchen, checked the oven, microwave for fod, but there
wasn't anything, so he came to the room and literally blew his top - screaming and
swearing at me that he worked so hard and all he wanted was a hot plate of food!
I had done nothing all day and couldn't even bother to get food for him
Needless to say, we haven't spoken since!
I did apologise, but decided not to say too much as when DH gets angry, he says very
hurtful things - and I didn't want that!
And he's been so busy at the house that he hasn't even asked me how I'm feeling
sigh!

JB I was just trying my luck as things have been very quiet.
I really didnt expect the call,I have nothing to loose I guess.
I will just go and see what they say as I dont mind staying at home
for only six weeks instead or four months. I am not entirely unhappy
at work its just I have gotten bored of what I do and feel I need to
move into a different role.

Chances are they will not take me, but guess there is no harm in trying.

Sorry to hear you're not happy at work hey! Wont it be worthwhile to stay where you are until baby arrives esp if its only a couple months and start looking for new work in Nov / Dec that you can start something fresh in the new year? You never know what the Lord has in store.

Lol Belaine I agree with Ginah! Ppl will struggle to buy baby shower gifts Maybe draw up a list of the smaller things including clothes and get it to your MIL as ppl will often ask what is still needed before buying. But be prepared for lots of blankets, bibs and clothes as us girls love buying that kind of thing especially for girlies!

Robyn ouch poor D!!! Shame you must've felt awful! I did the same once when K was much younger, thankfully not enough to go to ER but I still felt awful! Just remember she's probably forgotten by now.

Zoe how was your scan? My gynae & most will give a spinal block for a c-sec. It's similar to an epidural but designed to completely numb you from your chest down long enough for the surgery, and takes about 3-4 hours to work out your system. Sometimes it doesnt work entirely but they will do tests to make sure you are totally numb before starting. If it doesnt work they would possibly knock you out but only if circumstances require.
With natural birth you could choose an epidural which numbs the contractions. But be warned that it makes it very difficult to know when baby is crowning and when you need to push and apparently even the feeling of pushing is hard as you cannot feel that you are pushing and need a lot of guidance from the nurses to do it right. It has its advantages though as you can sail through natural birth. But it also means you are flat on your back the duration of labour which can slow labour down and add pressure to how long they allow you to labour before suggesting a csec.
Another option but not as widely used in SA - worth asking your gynae - is a walking epidural. It allows you to stay active during labour which hugely speeds it up and yet takes the edge off the contractions.

I am getting a bit anxious of the pain of natural birth. The other day I started getting cramps for needing to go have a #2 (sorry TMI) but I was driving to fetch K so couldnt get to the loo. It was so painful I imagined as painful as contractions, and I was actually groaning in the car and sweaty and lightheaded. It really frightened me into the prospect of pain med free natural birth. Going to have to have a good think about this one hmmm...

Belanie wow,people will batlle when they have to buy you stuff for
your shower. You are almost sorted moss. and glad your employer
realises that your are an asset.

Zoe do let us know how your scan went. My gynae only does his c-section
with epidural so know no other option.He totally refused to put me under.

I am 28weeks now going for my scan on the 18th of July, its been a while
since I saw the Dr. Baby is hecticly busy, kicks like crazy. I also feel like
he is grabbing me from inside as well.

I am at home alone relaxing,my aunt took the kids with her to Bela-bela
they are coming back tomorrow.

OMG!!!!
I'm the worst Mommy ever!
I tried to cut D's finger nails this morning but I cut the tip of her thumb and ended up
taking her to the emergency room at 07h00
DH was so upset with me of course he got a fright as well but I was more
traumatised than D
He wanted to take her to MIL but I insisted on taking her to the hospital
The nurse just put some anaesthetic & adrenalin drops on D's finger and bandaged it
I freaked cos it wouldn't stop bleeding!
The nurse was very calm - abit too calm, she took her time when D was bleeding all
over and I'm trying to calm her down while keeping myself from freaking out
The dr was pathetic - he just popped past for 1 min, told the nurse what to do
and then left
But D was a trooper - she only cried when the nurse was touching her thumb
At least the bill wasn't too bad - R500 for about an hour in total

Hi there

im so angry my maid didnt pitch and of course i didnt clean the kitchen last night and now i have to iron before i can pack!! I cleaned the kitchen before work at least.

one of my friends is having her c sec done today!!

Can anyone advise on the difference between C-Section with: versus : without epidural.
I need some clarity on that.

I have my Gynae appointment today, really looking forward to it.

Just gonna count down until 14h15 today.
