Good Morning Ladies, so glad its Friday!

@JB Thanks for the details on the jungle juice, will definitely look into that in more detail as I would love to breastfeed!

RE natural birth – I definitely don’t want to go through the route of epidural just cant imagine a needle in my back and further more the lasting effects of it – I know many women suffer from back pain afterwards and I don’t want that considering I already suffer from sciatica. Researching all the alternative therapy options for natural - that’s if I can have natural birth :)

@Belaine I would really appreciate it, will forward you my email addie thank you!

@Mckkim glad you had a wonderful baby shower! I love surprises and am really hoping mine will stay a surprise, as for a taglet what is that exactly?

@Elamsmom so sorry your 4D scan didn’t go well! Hope it all goes well on Saturday!!

Thank you to all of you for the advice and the recommendations, really don’t know what I would do without them ;)

Feeling a little overwhelmed by how many things are all happening in the next two months – moving house, 4D scan, baby shower, Maternity shoot, DH birthday, my dancing schools festival (need to support the ladies I dance with), Dads birthday and then the birth of our baby, its like I don’t have enough days or weekends lol so glad I put my studies aside, think I would have been a mess especially if I had to write my exam in August!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hi there

im irritated and close to tears and my head are spinning!!

The cot is our room and our room are sorted and now dh cant stop staring at the cot and smiling he cant wait for Mariné to come.

Mil is coming tonight i was looking forward to it but not anymore, since i got a mail from her yesterday.
i have a feeling she is gonna find fault with everything i want to do. she is already against me making a mickey mouse room! i've decided im gonna wait with that room till my lg is a year old.
Feeling sorry for herself and telling/asking me to make dinner for one night next week and even what to make as well, well big suprise for her im gonna make cottage pie at her home and even use her potatoes!! tough shit if they wanted anything else
its almost as if she is irritated with my lg, one day she is so excited and the next ... its like with me as well one day im everything and then the next im nothing.
she is moaning about money and even hinting for me to buy them bread and milk for next week.
fil is gonna take her to the airport she is visiting grandma! and im sure she is making grandma sounds worse than she is because no one takes care of grandma like mil.
she got me adorable spoegdoeke and gave it to me on sunday and now i must hear they dont buy groc and meat any more.
she was the one that said my mom must just know she wants to do the babyshower and now with all the complaints about money etc i doubt i will get one and im not gonna be 'nice' just to get one.

The wedding issue also pop up again, now bil wants to make dh one of his best man's so will see what happen i have a feeling there are gonna be a lot of fights. im not gonna stress about it now.
she is taking care of my 2 other bil's because one is without work and to be honest i doubt that he is really looking hard for work so mil is paying his car etc. and the other one is getting a small salary as he is a student so he just pay his studies and live with them. He is on holiday now and i bet they suffer because they gave him pocket money because i have to hear about they not having money to buy groc and meat.

We just need to get the monitor and travel system and then i work with what i got. i just need to get feeding bra's etc.

i wonder if mil is still gonna pack my hospital suitcase.

Thanks robyn i though of taking 2 sets of clothes.
Will def look for those tights havent wore them ever but think of getting me some.

Monica big hugs to you good luck at work!! well done on starting the washing process i still need to get started! good luck with your lists im sure you will be just fine.

Elamsmom sorry about the scan fx for a greater one next time, luckily your close enough to do it. will have a look at carriwell stuff at baby city when we go to pta. i think i have saw the top you talk about.

sorry for moaning just wanted to get it off my chest!!

hi to everyone else hope you have a lovely day!

Hi Ladies
It's funny how topsy turvy things are this time around - with 1st LO, I had so much stuff
and had everything ready months before, but now I'm over-compensating and not getting
anything ...

1st Time Moms - the jungle juice is for breast feeding and so is ginger beer

I know alot of hospital packing lists say to take a whole lot of clothes for you - I found I def
over-packed!!
The clothes you arrive at hospital in are the ones you leave in
I only used 2 sets of pyjamas (front button ones) and slippers
The 'large birthing t-shirt' is only if you are going natural - as soon as you have an epi,
they put you in a hospital gown

The skincare range I used for D is Eucerin (can get it at pharmacies and Clicks)
Very good for skin issues

Ooh - for those of you who live in tights, I was going to buy the Cherished Belly (or similar)
Preggie Tights for R400 but when I was in Woolies, I saw these "Shape Control" tights for R80
and they are exactly the same - they come up right over my tummy and are so comfy and warm
Def recommend those!! (esp for less than 1/4 the price!)

Hi ladies

wow I have missed lots too.

Im sure everyone is getting very excited and going to start really getting into the nesting period quite soon and get everything sorted and done.

I have pretty much finished with everything and got everything I need. But now from reading all your lists and things I will need a few more things - I know I need some size 2 nappies which I will get next month - and I will need to get the blackberry elixir for jungle juice. I will make do with what I have - cos I know with my first one I had way too much stuff.

I now just need to wash it all too. I have started with the washing process. I have packed my stuff for hospital and then as soon as the baby things have been washed I will pack the baby stuff in too.

I have been struggling with a little bit of pre baby blues the last few days. i was off work the last 2 days and just stayed home and stayed on my couch and watched movies the whole day. I was a bit anxious coming to work today but I know that i have to and that I cannot stay off forever.
Im sure it will pass - I am taking some rescue tabs - the gynea said it was ok to take. She has also been pushing me to go for counselling which is a bit irritating. I think she thinks that everyone just has money to waste. She even argued with me about the fact that the medical aid should pay for it. I know that my medical aid won't pay for it as we only have a hospital plan. Then she said but they paying for her consults so surely they would pay for a therapist. I quickly corrected her and told her - sorry but we actually paying for her consults out of our own pocket. Im just a liittle annoyed with her at the moment but tried to keep the peace cos I know that she has to take care of me and make sure the baby comes out the way it is supposed to.

My next scan is on 23rd July then I will be 32 weeks. Then after that we see her at 34 weeks and then at 36 weeks and then have c sect at 38 weeks. So it is not long to go but shoo as one of the other ladies said on here - im tired of this now and not a happy camper in this pregnancy.

Anyways let me get back to my 2 days of work that I have missed.
keep well and look after yourselves.

Hey ladies

Just popping in quickly to say that the 4D scan didnt go well :( She hid her face right up against the placenta the whole time so the shots we go were all squished! On the bright side though, the lady said I can come again on saturday and see if she is in a better positition. She'll do it for free.

Will let u know how it goes.

Shoo, you ladies are super organised. We've got the baby's cot & compactum at home but they dont fit into the bedroom. it turned out that the 3/4 beds are very big and so they almost fill up the room :( Still trying to figure out a plan of action...

Other than that, she only has 2 little outfits that I bought for her at a Naartjie sale. DH just gave me quite a bit of money to get stuff for her though so will definitely be shopping soon. I just want to figure out the bedroom situation 1st so that when I buy the stuff it doesn't stay in plastics but goes staright into her drawers.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but BabyCity has these really nice Carriwell breastdfeeding nighties where you dont have to take your whole top of. Also the breastfeeding bras and the post-birth panties with the very high waist. they go right up to almost under your boobs. they really help with getting your tummy back to normal (well, as normal as it will ever be post-baby  ) but if you've had a caesar, you wont be able to wear them for a while cos it will be painful.

Hi mcckim
thats a nice suprice hope you got to tick of a lot of the things you needed!!
Ok im also in the 2nd group taglet?

Good luck for the last weeks, im 32 weeks on Friday!

JB - my friend who had her c sec last Friday are at the same gynea and he does his scheduled c secs on tues or Wednesdays. He was on leave and just did hers on Friday! She helps me a lot of my questions regarding what to expect at the gynea and hospital which is really helpful.

me and dh already investigate all kind of travel systems we went to a shop and took out all the travel systems we like and made the shop assistant fold them up and thats how we decided on the chelino larenza with the umbrella fold.
i've heard about the base and at this stage its a nice to have if we have the extra money will get it other wise just later. most of my friends havent got one and they are just fine without it.

JB spoegdoeke i also got a lot off i got 4 from my mom, one from my friend, and 5 from mil and 2 from someone else that is getting made.

I have a box of breastpads and have a friend who is due next week and she is gonna send me hers that she dont use so not gonna buy until i go to hosp.

i though of getting a few of those disposable panties in any case. how many feeding bra's would you suggest? i thought 3? to start with and then when i go on can get more if i see i go the bf route.

Regarding breastfeeding i've heard patience is the key but apparantly they very nice in hosp and show you nicely. im uncertain about do lo drink from both breast at one feeding?? app the stoney you drink the last two weeks of your pg. but i have no idea.

Someone gave me the advice of putting olive oil on your nipples to prep them but nobody else heard of that.

ag it gets to much sometimes a lot of info!!

Thanks for helping me i really appreciate it!!

Take care
