Hi there

Had a relaxing weekend did get some extra sleep which helps!! my lower back is starting to hurt more often and lo is also getting more active.
Saturday was the 8th anniversary of my dads death but i have peace although i miss him dearly.
The memorial for my colleague is on wednesday so everyone at work is going.

HI to mckim welcome!! glad you joined us so glad there is another 1st timer!! the good thing is with all the 2nd time moms really handy advice!! my due date is 10 sept.
What team are you? are your lo also very active is a lovely feeling to feel them move. but i hear you on the intimidating part!!

JB hard to believe my 3rd trimester is around the corner hey!! for now i only count down to my next scan next week!!

My brother wants to get married dec and sil to be asked me to help her with the arrangements so we having dinner there!! im just giving her some guidelines and work trough her quotes and see which one is the best etc.

JB well done on the blood tests, good luck for the new chapter in your life im sure you will do well!! and good luck with ma!! and 17weeks great you are catching up!!

Hi robyn congrats on hitting the halfway mark!! you all are special so im sure you all will get pampered with a shower!!

I should have been on this thread months ago, you've had some very useful advice for a first timer like me.

I'm due on the 4th September so already at almost 6 months. Hugely intimidated by the whole thing and feel like there is never enough time to learn everything you need to know but similtaneously loving the whole experience.

Apparently I'm through the easy part now and the last few months should be an experience but we'll see how it goes. Congrats to everyone else on your pregnancies.

To think a month from now some of you will be entering your 3rd and FINAL trimester!!! Yikes !!!

Just want to update. Got blood test results back from gynae today, and all came back well. Low risk for Downs, iron levels normal and thyroid level normal, no infections.
I must say despite the lack of sleep I am feeling a lot healthier this time around even though I'm 7kgs heavier and 2 years older than last time!

Kaylee has a cold / flu. Took her to doc today to get meds. I think we caught it early though, so hopefully she'll recover quickly from it! Last year winter was crazy mahem cos she suffered from repeat ear infections, flu and pneumonia. I'm certainly hoping we wont have a repeat of it this year!

I'll be more scarce from next week as I can only post at night when the pc is free, and will be hitting the sac early cos I cant do daytime naps But will try pop in to read daily and to post as often as possible.

On Monday I must fight with medical aid who have paid for Kaylee's Echo's from the savings instead of chronic PMB so suddenly our medical funds are exhausted for the year which is just impossible! The echo's are around 2K each and we've done 2 this year already and must go for another one in September! Plus the R500 per month gynae charges, and 2 scan charges still to come, and any doctor's visits for Kaylee in winter and medicines. I NEED that 4K to get through this
Oi I really hate fighting with companies to do their jobs right!

New symptom for me = HUGE full boobs! It feels like I need to breastfeed to alleviate the pressure!

HI to everyone else im so tired now luckily its midday now!! i dont have any energy to do work!!

Oh my word what a night!!!
Kaylee woke up at 11:30pm with nightmares (This seems to happen every other night at the moment!) but she just wouldn't settle. So eventually at about 1pm we put Winnie the Pooh on and lay her in our bed. DH turned around and carried on snoozing but I cant sleep when she's awake. At 2:30ish we forced her to go back to sleep after a lot of crying and moaning she was finally asleep around 3am. And then she decided to wake up promptly - and unhappily - at 6am! She is now so miserable this morning as she really should've slept longer and I am too exhausted to do anything and have a huge headache
We give her ponado / nurofen and a cough syrup (she has a dry cough atm) which normally helps to some extent but did nothing last night


1st timer I hear your anxiety! I also had a MC and then with K I had some spotting too. I believe she fought for her life back then just like she did when she was born! These ones are fighters!

Belaine congrats on the high marks for your exam and now you can relax!

Elamsmom its also quite common in pregnancy. Let us know what doc says and especially whether you get any clarity on gender! I'm pretty sure he'll do a quick scan for you

Zoecat my experience with expos is that you can get a lot of sample products especially toiletries and nappies, but the rest is really just temptation for things that are too expensive and things that you dont need.
But it is your first pregnancy so you must make this the most enjoyable process ever even if that means meandering about and taking everything in at a baby expo. I went when a colleague was pregnant, I was still years away from that direction for myself and so I guess my experience was somewhat different.

Monica you are looking stunning! And your little Camryn is too cute! They grow up so fast! Does she understand why your tummy is growing?

Hi all, sorry for being MIA - until I have the fetal assessment scan next week I am still bit on edge so not really ready to join the chatting and jinx it (had a MC last time and lots of spotting with this one) But I have been reading.

Congrats on team pink everyone! JB congrats on the job and Belaine congrats on the exam! I write my first Unisa exam on Tues. Then again Fri and the following Thurs. Have done no work though as ds has been sick off school and I am too tired by the time my husband gets home at 7! Oh well

Will chat more after my scan on Wednesday hopefully. I also have my list of baby essentials and my north plan (elective caesar) that I will upload at some point).
