Hi Ladies

hope you all doing well. Sounds like everything is going well with all of you.

not much shopping going on for the new little arrivals ??? - which is only a few months away! :woohoo:

We have finally got some computers and are back on line - its been 3 weeks without any computers so you can only imagine the piles of work i have on my desk now to catch up on. So I thought I would just check in here and write a small post so i can start th big catch up!

Im 21 weeks this week and my LG is moving like mad - at least every hour i feel her give me a kick or two. Which puts my mind at ease a lot.
I am fine otherwise - just a bit uncomfortable - i get out of breathe easily and I battle to get comfy in any positions. The only one I find is most comfortable is in bed - but then I can only lie on my sides for a little bit on each side. I am not sleeping well either but strangely enough the last 2 nights I have slept much better than before. All in all - everything is going well. Picked up like 8kg already!! feel like a baby elephant! and the maternity clothes that i had before is not fitting and the clothes that I got from someone are still too big!!

My daughter is also acting up and is really impossible - but i am hoping it is just a phase that she is going through and that all will come right soon enough.

Good luck to those ladies who are still trying to see which team you're on! Good luck if you having any scans soon.

Happy Mothers day to all of you for Sunday!! Whether you have a child already or one on the way!! Enjoy it!! ;) and hope you get spoilt!! Put your feet up!! and let the men and children spoil you rotten!!

Have a good week and I will chat to you soon!

Hi All

I saw the my new Gynae at Clinton hospital, and was very happy with her. Hubby and I were very comfortable with her.

I cant believe that I am already 17 weeks.

My previous bloods picked up that I have primary hyperthyrodism, So have been prescribed with Eltroxin to take throughout the pregnancy.

She also wants me to take the Preg Omega Plus with the extra calcium.

More bloods more done, so will await to see the outcome at my next appointment at the end of May.

We asked to see if she was able to see baby's gender, but the little rascal's legs were crossed, LOL. So now the nursery is currently on hold until I know which team.

All in all the pregnancy has been going well. I have started to show slightly, and the tiredness is not as bad as it was the first three months.

The only other thing is extremely itchy tummy and breasts. Will discuss with the Gynae at the end of tis month.

:)

Hi ladies

Went for a free gender scan at my gynae last Friday and guess what? At almost 19 weeks, baby still hid the goods!!! legs were tightly shut and he was facing sideways. he did give us a "sharp" sign though. (his hands curled into a fist with the thumb sticking out) Guess it was his way of saying "hi" so...absolutely no indication at this stage whether its a girl or a boy!!! :( Doc said , at this rate, we might have to wait till birth to find out!!!! But if that happens, I'll be ok with having a little suprise baby.

I think I'm going to buy the gender neutral stuff in the meantime like white vests; nappies;wipes;bibs;towels;and cosmetics. For the bedroom, I'm thinking of going for pastels like turquoise, lavender;greens;yellows;reds etc. but not sure where to find kids stuff in those colours. The cheaper places like Mr Price are very geared towards the pink or blue themes. Anyway, will spend the winter doing that. Can't wait.

@Belaine: sorry for discomfort and lower back pain. But its SO worth it!!!Best of luck for your exam!!!

@Joybaby: Hope you get to find out gender at next appointment :woohoo: Hope your baby isn't as stubborn as mine! giving us a sharp sharp sign instead of showing us the girly/boy bits!

@RobynC: Glad you seem to have everything/ most of what you need already!I've given away a lot/basically all of Elam's baby clothes so will have to start from scratch as far as clothes are concerned but at least the cots, prams, babychairs, feeding chairs, bumbo seats etc are sorted.

@Mutha2b: where have u disappeared to? How are things going on your side?

Hi there

Quick update lo is fine just pressing my organs in a way that make me feel out of breath and together with the very low bp thats why i collapsed.

My lower back is starting to hurt and now the twins is fine again i take thats all part of the package. as long as lo is fine i dont mind.

Mil was impressed with all my baby stuff and said i have a lot and even loved the pink outfits my mom bought.

ouma is going back on Thursday was very sad last night they were over for dinner and when they left that sad face really got to me. she is getting old and its hard to fly so dont think she will come up again.

looking forward to the wedding on saturday.

Really need to put in the hours this week because im not here to study over the weekend. im trying to make notes during the day at work and work through the assesments etcc.

today its just 3 more weeks to go before my scan, really cant wait!!

Take care!!

Hi moms!

Belaine low BP is quite common in pregnancy. It can also be low iron so ask your doc to check ur iron levels at ur next check up which should be a more detailed check up anyway.
You can increase your salt intake to combat low BP but dont go overboard as low BP is better than high BP. But snack on salt n vinegar chips or something if u need.
If its iron you can eat more red meat and beetroot also works well.
You must look at woolies for some maternity bra's. When I was pg last time they only had plain cotton really plain very unattractive bra's but were affordable R160 for 2. Now they have much nicer looking maternity bra's that come in black and are very nicely shaped too. But I would say only buy 2 cos your breasts are still likely to increase in size before baby arrives and once your milk comes in after birth.

Elamsmom did u go for a scan this weekend? And and and??? :D :D :D
I hope you've managed to combat your cold!
Last week I struggled with a head cold, but got some locobiotal at the pharmacy which you use as if its an antibiotic and it worked really well! You can also increase your vit C intake up to 2grams a day when sick and 1gram a day when u feel something starting!

Monica shew what a week!!! Hope you get to start working soon! Pity you cant work from home during this time!
So glad all is looking well with your LG! Have u decided on names?
We can all look forward to maternity leave over the Christmas holidays which is a real big bonus for being pg now!

AFM not much to report. Cold is better. Nausea is better but I still get bouts of it.
Next scan on 15th. Hoping to find out gender. Just more than a week to go yipee! Still dont feel pg though!
Cant wait to know gender so I can go through K's things and pass on / keep what I need :)

Anyway must go. Family watching a movie and waiting for me.

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.
