Thanks Cherikey...A friend iof mine who had her baby in April this year developed it in her third trimester...her baby also weighed 4kg at birth. The Gestational Diabetes dissapeared right after baby was born. But in some cases it doesn't :(

So ya...I'm hoping for the best! And also not stressing B)

Hey Juwayraj...

Holding thumbs it's not gestational diabetes (could explain the bigger baby though) as i've heard that moms who develop it, end up having a big baby...

Hi Everyone

Glad to hear everyone is doing well still.

With regards to the perineal massage, I haven't done it before and I also read that it really helps when having natural birth. I'm actually don't think I can reach down there even  I can just picture my husband's face if I would ask him to do it now.... :silly:

AFM:

I went for a check up yesterday...
Baby is weighing 2.8kg already  apparently bigger than what he's supposed to be at 34 weeks ...at first doc thought that I have too much amniotic fluid but on the scan it showed that my fluid is normal. :) There was also glucose in my urine :( and now I'm having another Glucose Tolerance Test done tomorrow :S to check if I haven't got Gestational Diabetes  I sure hope it's not the case...getting my results on Monday...

Over the weekend I managed to pack baby's things into the bag but still have to go buy sample sizes of toiletries to pack in aswell. I'm still deciding on what to put in for myself.

Keep well and enjoy the rest of the day!

Morning Ladies

Yes, Anthea, i also mentioned this to hubby last time & didn't seem too keen...

I just got the latest Babeeze (Mediclinic) newsletter in which it has hospital bag checklists which is quite in depth if you're interested:
www.babeeze.co.za/index.php?q=con%2c161%...ng_your_hospital_bag

I also read through the paperwork the maternity ward gave me when i booked my bed & in it, it suggests you take surgical spirits but then mentions you get some in a bag. So i don't really see the point in taking any if you're going to get one in the free hospital bag. There is the off chance that you don't get in your bag, so not sure what i'm going to do...

We're off to Jhb this weekend. Leave early Thursday morning as we head to the baby show thursday afternoon. Hoping to catch the 3:30 Barney Show for my LG (she is VERY excited)... Anyone else going to be there the same time?

Would you believe the Sister who presented the ante-natal class said the very same thing - hubby was in stitches! I was not impressed  She said its a good idea, especially if you are carrying big and cant reach down there :tmi: :tmi:

I agree Anthea, also wasn't keen the first time around and so didn't do anything... But had a small baby so i was ok... But was thinking of my SIL and any others having a big baby first time around it's not a bad idea to do... One site even suggested hubby do it!
