Hi ladies, I'm still hanging in there thought I wudv popped by now as my lg was born at 36 weeks bt seems my lb is very comfy. Jeanine did u have baby yet? Did u get ur vbac? Can't wait 2hear all the birth stories. Belinda did Danique hold till Wed? Pls update ladies. I'm sure most have had their babies.

I see everyone has gone quiet now, I understand that! For the first month at least after Maria was born I just couldn't see my way to a PC.

Is everone doing ok? Please post some pics. On this side, Maria is growing so fast - she is 6 weeks old tomorrow and we're going to take her for her first shots on Wednesday - we'll see who cries more. She has gained 1.6kg from birth already and is still breastfeeding so well.

She's recently been bothered with some hectic cramps and once or twice couldn't sleep from one feeding to the next - I now give her gripe water when I see she starts to struggle.

I've joined the LLL (La Leche League - breasfeeding) and am going to the first meeting next Friday - I'll let you know how it goes

Hi ladies just a quick update. Landed up having a planned c section on 11th tuesday. Baby still didnt drop so with doc going away we decided on c section Tuesday as he couldn't induce if baby didnt drop. We welcomed our healthy baby boy on tuesday at 8 05.

Motherhood is great. Breast feeding going well. Battled but came right today. Nipples were sore and cracked. I agree if it hurts it doesnt mean baby isnt latching properly. Hayden latched perfectly fine but its just sore. So had some laser treatment and not much pain and using nipple shields too so so far so good. I go home tomorrow. Very excited. Dont see an option via cell phone for loading any pic's so will load if I ever get near a pc. Best of luck to all the ladies left to still welcome their bundle of joys. Its such a lovely feeling to see what you created. This precious little human.

Oh my gooooodnes Mrs TL - Maria is so gorgeous! Look at that head of hair! She is such a pretty little face! WOW it really sounds as if you and Maria are champs. Breastfeeding sounds great and seems like you are already in a pretty comfy routine. I'm so happy for you!! Congratulations again on this beautiful little girl of yours!

Jeanine, YAY! I'm so happy everything is looking positive for a VBAC.. Hopefully she won't let you wait araound like mine is doing then she will grow more and more. Having said that, my baby did not grow at all between 37 and 39wks.. even though he's perfectly healthy. maybe with 100gr at the most. So maybe he was just good to me. Don't know what he's been up to this week though
My sister told me today that the day before she delivered her son she was at her gynae and he measured 3.9kg. When he was born the next day, he was only 3.3kg. So I'm hoping for the same for me and you Jeanine.. That the dr's measurements are just off.. hehe! Hopefully! I firmly believe that nature will not let you carry a baby that is too BIG for your body to labour. but I guess there is always an exception to the rule??

My sister whom I'm sooo close with lives in Dubai and literally surprised me at my front door this morning (me still in pajamas)! I just burst into tears! She literally just came for the birth and is flying back on Saturday!! Can't believe it.. This is the best thing that could happen to me. All my nerves are gone and I'm just so happy!!

You're right, we shouldn't be this quiet!. Jeanine & Izzels, I am so happy for you that you're still on track with your birth plans. Jeanine, well done on keeping your baby shower a secret secret

On this side I am really just besotted with Maria. We went through a bit of a rough patch at around 10-14 days but that is normal as they go through a growth spurt then. After that everyone advised me to start giving her telament drops before breastfeeding. I did this for a couple of days and she really struggled with cramps etc, now I've stopped it completely and she now longer has any issues. I have my angel baby back - I wake her every 3 hours during the day but during the night I let her wake me. I then change her, feed her for 15 minutes on each breast (she wants less nowadays), burp her and then she'll fidget for a bit and go to sleep again.

I also love to hold her and sometimes will take my nap with her lying on my chest - tummy time and mummy time.

Breastfeeding is going well, she's gained 1kg since birth - 4 weeks today. In the beginning my nipples were soooo sore and raw but Bepanthen did the trick. Oh, and don't believe the nonsense about your nipples only getting sore if baby doesn't latch properly... Maria latched like a champion but no ways was my nipples prepared for the continuous use...

Yes, its been REALLY quiet here!! Think its because everybody is either busy with their babies, or on maternity leave and not close to a PC .

Welcome Mamaka! Another Genesis baby coming You REALLY won't regret it, I had my son there (2010 via c-sec) and they are GREAT! And Phindi is such a sweetie

Izzels - just 2 more days These babies are coming fast now! Good luck with the induction. Let us know when he is here!!

AFM: The baby shower was nice - EVERYBODY was convinced that it was a huge surprise - they even congratulated DH on his ability to keep it a secret Got some cute clothes, and all my blankets and sheets (I picked the material and my mom made it for me). So finished washing it all last night, now I can re-pack my hospital bags with PINK stuff

Gynea visit went very well, he gave me the go-ahead to attempt a VBAC . No concerns regarding placenta, scar etc. Baba was in a good position.
Only issue now is size.......... On saterday (36+2) the scan estimated her at 3.167kg With 4 weeks to go, and avg gain of 100g a week... Estimated birth weight of 3.6kg!!! REally have to hope that its not more!
At least her head circ is measuring on the 50% percentile still, since that was the main reason I had a c-sec the last time - big baby (3.89kg) with big head (37cm)
