Hey Ladies!

What is going on here... Everyone disappeared! Come on, we've heard so much throughout your pregnancies, come tell us about your babas.

Welcome mamaka! Congrats on your girl! now you can experience both boy and girl and tell us if the pregnancies differ? Don't worry, it took me a while also to get the hang op all the extra details and updating the profile :-)

How are the rest of you ladies?

Happynes, how was your induction?? Please do tell as I don't know what to expect? I've heard from so many that have had and induction that it ends up in a c-sec as the body progress well.. Also tell us about your baby!

Marley, you are also due this weekend, but you said that will be having baby earlier, might be this week also?

Jeanine, How was your baby shower?? Did you act surprised? haha!
Also your big final Gynae visit was on the 8th.. Im dying to know what he said and if you'll be able to go ahead with the VBAC or have to have another C-sec. Thinking of you a lot and hoping all is turning out perfect for you and baby.

Hopeful, mrs TL, Trudie. Im sure you all are having a lovely time with your babies. Hope the feeding is going just perfect too!

If you look at my ticker you might think that I've had my baby by now, but no.. he still has not come.. I was 40 wks on Sunday. Today, 40wk2days. Last week Wednesday I was at the gynae and there is still enough fluid, baby still totally fine and happy so I would love to just wait it out and let him come when he's ready. Doc's though do get nervous and he wanted to induce on Sunday night. On the day 40 wks. I postponed it till tonight (Tuesday) and just emailed him last night to ask if we can move it to Wednesday as both husband and I realised I will be released from hospital on Friday, which my husband is shooting a wedding on and will be gone all day till 11pm at least. AND it'll give this little guy one more day to come on his own.. but to tell you the truth, I'm not so sure he will! :-(
SO I'm now waiting patiently (not so much!) on gynae's email to hear if I have to go in tonight or tomorrow night. Either way, I will be holding my little one in my arms by Thursday afternoon I'm sure!! That part makes me super excited!! :woohoo:

Hi Feb mommies
Im new to moomie and I thought I'd come lurk in this group and the april one
I'm from the Eastern Cape based in Joburg. im a mommy to my 5year old boy. We're expecting a baby girl on 20 March 2014 much to daddy and big brother's excitement

My son was born via c-sec due to FTP at Unitas (still seems like yesterday sometimes) on 02 Feb 2009. we threw quite a lovely party for him this past saturday for him to enjoy being an only child. Too lovely.

Im currently using a midwife at Genesis to increase my chances of a vbac. Phindi like you JeanineK. im 33 weeks so I haven't met her back up gynae yet. Ive been hearinv great things about Dr Maasdorp and Dr Mia but it seems they are quite busy around my dates so I have an appointment with Dr Dlakavu at Olivedale Clinic but ill see her at Genesis.

All the best wishes to all you ladies and since insomnia is the order of the day nowadayd for me, I will probably be up to date with your stories soon  oh and im trying to update my profile with all this stuff so I don't look too much like a troll... really trying

JeanineK, I have heard excellent things about Phindi. I did a lot of VBAC research and her name was one of those that kept coming up. Good luck for the gynae visit. I didn't have very good news about the scar, but the midwife wasn't too concerned and I will be monitored properly and I trust her implicitly.

Hello ladies

I feel like a bit of a gate crasher, coming in at this late stage... I was a regular on this forum for my first baby, but have been a bit reluctant to join this time round.

My second baby is due in a few weeks' time - midwife reckons mid February. We're just hoping that we make the Springsteen concert ;)

JeanineK, your screen name is very familiar, and I see you also have a little one born in 2010. My first one - also Emily - was born in April. Which midwife/gynae are you seeing? I'm with Sue King and Dr Mia. I was also worried about the 36-week scan, but I just wanted to tell you that it is the gynae's job to give you the worst-case scenario. So don't panic until you've spoken to your midwife.

mrs TL! Thanks so much for the lovely update! I must say reading yur post is making me so excited for my own to arrive. Beside the pain with the difficult and unfortunate cut, it seems as if Maria is just being a little star for her mommy. So glad and happy for you that you doing so well with the breastfeeding! My hopes and dreams for myself and this little guy too :-)

Hopeful and TrudieK, dying to hear from you girls.. but Im sure babies are keepin you busy! Don't let us hanging.. were soooo curious!

Jeanine, yay for baby facing head down, hoping she'll be a good girl and stay like that. Good luck with your gynae apt and hoping you really do get the outcome you want and are comfortable with. Enjoy that babyshower!! and good luck with acting surprised.. haha! Urgh! next time id rather want to know when it is, that pressure to really be surprised is just silly.. but still nice in a way. haha

Marley- don't wory about him being "big" I was at my gynae last week also around 37wks and he also measured around the same.. but remember, these measurements are FAR from spot on. My doc even said they are usually out by +- 500grams. So it really is just an estimate. Hopefully your little man also decides to come early on his own! I'm going to google some natural induction methods now.. haha!

Happyness - shoowee 1 week left. yes, with the sonars you can never ever get a proper reading. Especially here at the end its really a thumb suck. Also its difficult to see behind bone. So you'll be just over 38 weeks when you have the induction? Hoping you might go into labour naturally this week!! :-)

AFM - Im on 38wks1 day.. tick tock.. was at the gynae last week at 37,5 weeks. little man measured with a big head and also tipping the scale at around 3 - 3.4kg. but as I said.. only an estimate. Hes lying perfectly head down, body to the left and kicking power kicks in my right side, so much so that I can feel his sharp, small little heels with my hands.
Doc did an internal exam for first time - according to him I have a spacious pelvis.. haha! baba has also dropped down into the pelvis. So all good news for me and thumbs up for having natural birth!! YAY! Im seeing him again next week on the 5th of Feb, then I'll be 39.5 wks. Im actually hoping though that he'll arrive sometime this week or next week as my husband has to shoot a wedding in Lambertsbaai on he 8th (1 day before due date) which is 3 hours away!! the chances of going into labour on that day is so minimal.. but the chance is still there.. oh boy! Sooooo.. feel free to give me some natural induction remedies ladies!! I know sex helps, so i'll start there.. hiehie! castor oil did help one of the girls in my hypnobirthing class last week.. but sheeesh, I wat to puke just thinking about that!

We're in the very last stretch.. good luck!! Cant wait to share baby pics with you all.
