Hi ladies.

Glad to hear everythings going well. Not much news on my side.
went to see doc yesterday. he is still head down. only he is far away from the birth canal so hope he drops soon otherwise it means my cervix might be too small so if he hasnt dopped by my next apppointment (6 Feb) we will do a internal scan to see if my cervix is too small or whats the problem. Doc estimates he's a big boy - around 3.43kgs... ssshhoooooo...

Doc then proceeds to tell me that he will be away on my due date. was ready to fall off the chair. DH and i just looked at each other. wasnt too impressed. so we will have to have him a few days earlier as im due on the 15th Feb and he leaves then but we will see everything on the 6th Feb and know whats happening from there. plus doc says it would be better for me as my feet are swelling alot. luckily no pain though. anything from now doc says is no longer concidered prem anymore so he could arrive any time now if he does on his own otherwise wait till the 6th feb which doc doesnt see anything happening before the 6th. he's quite comfy in my belly.

anyways would love to see pics from the ladies who have their little ones already.

Wow, what a week!! I wanted to update before this but then I found myself just staring at Maria sleeping for hours on end. I now have to update all of the family though so I need to give some feedback here as well - apologies for my tardiness.

Maria was born as planned via C-section - there was a bit of complications so the cut isn't where it normally is and it is also around 25cm long. It is sore, and they had to move and split my stomach muscles.

That aside.. Maria was born at exactly 09:14 on the 14th of January. She weighed 3.25kg at birth and was 48cm tall. Her apgar scores were 9/9 so our princess is a little overachiever from birth.

We were in hospital (Unitas - which was great! - the breastfeeding consultant and all of the nursing staff were fantastic) until Friday morning and since then have been settling in wonderfully at home. DH had to go back to work on Monday already and you can just see how proud and excited he is coming home every night. I haven't been doing much but breastfeeding (she latches like a champion!), changing nappies, burping (she gets hiccups from her burps) and watching her sleep. I also try to catch some sleep when she sleeps...


I am super excited for everyone going in now and around now. Jeanine, I hope your little lady stays like that and that you will have a great natural birth!

Just a quick update. saw the midwife again this morning.

Emily has turned back down again!!! Now I must just hope she stays that way!! Midwife says she has a big bum she struggled at first to feel the difference between the head and bum

Next big one is gynea visit 8 Feb - which will be the final say as to whether I can try natural or have to schedule repeat c-sec...

And I heard that my baby shower is being planned for 9 Feb (so easy to get info out of DH )

Happiness. Wow - just 10 days left for you! - Is there a reason they are inducing that early though?

TrudieK - congratulations on the birth of your baby girl!! Cant wait to see some pics!

I went to see my gynea yesterday. Everything is going well. He is just a little concerned about the head being a little smaller than it should but it could be because of the fact that he is struggling to get proper measurements behind my hib bone. So just to be safe he will be doing an induction on monday 3 Feb... unless baby decides to come before then. So that means that I have a maximum of 11 days left

So excited to hold my little girl!!!!

Here everything is going well just a bit tired and becoming more uncomfortable every day! Only 25 more days to due date, not long now....!!
