Sorry to hear about all the pains - shame man!!!!

MakatK - I wish I could get 4 months fully paid - we get 3 months fully paid; 4 months 70% of your salary; 5 months 50% of your salary and 6 months 30% of your salary. Last time I took 4 months and claim from UIF - wasn't too painful. This time around I would probably do the same

Hi to all the other ladies - sounds like you are all well!!!

AFM - struggled to get my daughter to sleep last night - think she was overtired (she still sleeps in our bed - oops!!!!) Any way so I had her behind me not calming and then little peanut in front (was sleeping on my left side) thinking it is time to play. Feels like a mouse that is scratching here and there. Eventually by 23:00 both started to calm down. I am tired today because of these two LOL

we go through all my medical history and concerns and everything that she needs to know
She weighs me
She then measures my tummy to see how far I am
My uterus(spelling) should be about 17 cm from my pelvic bone - every week you uterus should grow 1 cm
Then she uses the doppler to listen to babies heart
She takes my blod pressure
First appointment take about 40 min (R380)
other appointments take about 20 min (R190)
I will do another scan at 20 weeks (R350)
and then we will do a 4 d scan sometime between 28 & 32 weeks
With the other appointments, she do all the other things except the medical history part

You ladies make me appreciate my company more.we get 30 days leave and my leave is due in April but I won't take it I will encash half the days and go on a shopping spree I wish all of you the best with ur UIF claims.

I bought this one thing from Reges, it's a wipes and bum cream container.Really nice I will take a pic after work for you to see.

4 months before we go on maternity leave

Hi Goggatjies so what does the midwife do?

I doubt I will change over to the new gynae. My savings on my medical aid is depleted and she charges R1300 for a first scan. Money I just don't have right now. I'm very sad.

The beginning of this financial year my work switched over from full maternity pay to a a 3rd monthly for 4 months. Excellent timing on falling pregnant.... NOT LOL.
I'm renting on my own so I'm seeing a couple of tough spots ahead for me. and I also just moved the 1st of Oct 2013. Still recovering from that move. I wanted new beginnings so I bought furniture and a whole lot of stuff new and gave the old stuff away.

I think its a good move Goggatjies. New beginnings.

You ladies are so lucky to get paid for maternity leave.
I take 4 months, but have to claim all from uif
Luckily, my leave gets paid out end of feb, only took 6 days this year, and I get 20 a year, so that is great.
Then we also get a nice pay out from SARS in July, which is also great.

So we will be moving 01 Feb, to many family drama, and I do not want to be part of it. So we decided to move and get it over with, we will rent for a year and they buy something - looking forward to all the new things

My LB is looking forward to grade R next year, so that is also very exciting

i also had some period-like pains this week. luckily they where not bad.
my worst at the moment is still the headaches

Makat, you are very lucky to get fully paid maternaty leave.
I get 4 months unpaid i will sort out my UIF stuff early next year.

Jay, it must be so nice to feel babay move. you must enjoy it alot.
i'm really looking forward to feel him move.

i can feel my tummy changing, but i still fit comfortably in my normal pants. looking forward to start wearing my maternity pants..hehe
