Thanks Gain-a-baby, I think my approach will also be to have an open mind about it!

IreneL no problem, I've learned that you can "plan" your birth as much as you can but it's all up to the situation. You have to keep an open mind about it. I would for sure go natural again if I can. Recovery was quick for me. C-section is not like they did it years so I've heard that recovery is also much easier these days.

Good luck :)

Gain-a-baby, sorry for only replying now! I never saw your reply...so weird because I subsrcibed to this thread.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, glad all worked out well with you in the end.

I really, really like Dr Dalla as well, I don't feel scared at all when I see her. She hasn't talked about the delivery yet, but seeing your comment that she is pro-natural suddenly made me very scared, hahaha. Not sure why, probably because I haven't thought about the delivery yet (I choose not to think about stuff that might scare me until I absolutely HAVE to think about it, haha)...and maybe because it is making it very real now!

Having experienced a natural birth, would you still take that route if you had a choice, you wouldn't opt for a c-section?

Hi Ladies

How are you all doing???
Would love to meet up when our little ones are a bit bigger!
Our LO seems to be sleeping better :)
Are you ladies breastfeeding. My little one flat out refuses my right breast, so I have been expressing from my right and breastfeeding with my left. Makes me a little lopsided - but at least I am managing to breastfeed, which is what I wanted.

He's also picking up quite nicely - one month today and weighing 4.2. Doc is happy with his progress. Hope to you hear from you ladies soon :)

Hello Everyone! Welcome to the festive season with your new little people on two. How lucky we are to be in the warm summer sun with our babies instead of the ice of a Cape winter...Hope all is going well. My son is two months old today :)

IreneL
I don't mind the questions at all, I wish I was diligent enough to type out my birth story as the finer details of it I are fading.

I picked up gestational diabetes during my third trimester and at 30 weeks I was admitted for observation. This gave me a chance to get to know the staff at the hospital and they treated me like a queen, i never had to ask for anything! Dr Dalla is very good, very sweet and I recommend her to anyone. My induction was due to the risk of my baby being to big at birth and for this reason I was induced at 38 weeks. Dr Dalla is pro natural all the way. During labour the only time c-section came up was when I had been pushing for almost and hour and baby would have gone in to distress. Fortunately the vacuum and my pushing avoided that from happening.

Good luck! :)

Hi all, sorry for intruding here on your group...if I am not misktaken, I noticed somewhere that your are with Dr Dalla, Gain-a-baby?

I am also with her and I really like her. I am expecting my baby in May. How did you find Cape Gate and its staff? Why did you have to have an induction, if you don't mind my asking?

I read somewhere on Google that some lady said that Dr Dalla is not pro-natural birth. Did you find this to be true? To be honest, I don't really care if I have a caesarian at this stage - both options seem very daunting to me anyway! So I will stay with Dr Dalla either way, I was just curious.
