Morning ladies!

Sooo, my visit yesterday went very well. LO is now 1,9kg (approx) and have turned nicely whoo hoo! I have now been instructed to start counting kicks / movements... 12 movements every 12 hours, anything less than that and I need to raise the alarm. I've now tried this between yesterday and today but I loose count and I've become so used to the movements that I don't stop to think about them... Mmmm. Any suggestions?

@Faffy - I also have to now go back every 2 weeks and then weekly. It seems standard practice but I agree, rather expensive little trips.

I'm also a bit nervous now, have to fly to Germany for business (one of those "I have to finalise before maternity leave" issues...) in two weeks time. Dr gave me a letter for the airlines but also insist I do the Clexane injections (blood thinner) as I've had clots and thrombosis before... Really not in the mood for those Hubby is a bit unhappy that I need to go, he's scared I'll go into early labour while there and he will miss out on it all. Some intense TLC required till then.

@Gloei - I found some relatively affordable cami's - see link: www.meamama.co.za/item/feeding_cami_12. They're priced quite reasonable vs some of the other stores and outlets and I think since planning to breastfeed for as looooooong as I can that I can wring some value of out them during that time. Oh and well done on getting going with those meals! You're leading the pack it seems ;)

Sorry, have been very busy with work and feeling a bit exhausted. I have missed out on so many posts!

StarryEyed: I was getting so worried when you didn't reply, wondered if the baby was born. I am so relieved to hear you are back home, although it sounds like under very strict rules. It is such fantastic news that the doctor thinks that you will be able to go full term and natural delivery!!! Are you allowed to slowly walk to the toilet?
So glad you hubby is able to take such great care of you in this challenging time for you both. Stay strong!!! xx

Nels - How is your hip doing?
I have managed to make bobotie (I love it) and a Macaroni and mince with cheese sauce dish for the freezer so long. I plan to make loads more...I didn't make nearly enough with my first LG. I am seriously going to stack the deep freeze to the brim!! I would highly recommend first time moms do the same, I see it as important as buying nappies. Those first few weeks are pretty insane and a ready made meal with minimum dishes might even seem orgasmic at that stage!

Nels - I am having short bursts of pain on my pelvis/bladder area, but the feeling doesn't last too long, a few seconds. But once again, isn't it time for you for baby to start dropping down? Perhaps that is the reason?

Stange the tummy issues Nels and RonelleB are having? Wonder what is causing it...can imagine it is distressing as one of the symptoms of early labour might be a runny tummy.

RonelleB - Hope the scan went well today. I am also looking for feeding tops. I didn't like the Cariwell one.

Faffymum - Yes, the appointment times you mention are standard in your 3rd trimester. I know that you normally have more appointments at the end of your pregnancy, but perhaps check with your caregiver if you could skip some of them. I think the reason for the regular check ups is that often more serious complications arise in the 3rd trimester and if caught early it could make a big difference. I skipped quite a few appointments in my first and second trimester, because I felt all was fine and felt as if I was in a low risk group.

Newbiemom - how are you doing? Confirmation on gender??

Ja thats what I thought too. I am low risk....I think I should tell her I can't afford so many visits.

Faffymum@ if you have a risk free pregnancy not really. That ends up being quiet expensive, with this pregnancy I have only seen my gynea twices, will see him again at 39 weeks. If I have/had a problem that I felt needed meds or something I would go to a gp. And I am going to try vbac so some gyneas would have wanted to see me often but I am so a low risk that he has never even complained nor asked why I come so far inbetween.

Ronelle B...Don't worry too much. They only go into position from 32-36 weeks and sometimes later apparently. My boy was head down at the time but I feel him moving around so doubt he stays there. Sure it will be just fine. Enjoy Let us know how the scan was.

My doctor wants to see me again in 3 weeks time..and then after that I think in two weeks and then once a week..is that normal? That's a lot of gynae appointments

Going to buy stuff and pack hospital bags this weekend so excited.

Starreyed@ great to hear you home and dh is taking such great care of you. Its great to hear your gynea is all for natural as most would have booked a cs already. Dont worry packing can be a breeze as long as you make a list first then pack because when you just pack we tend to forget some things. Dont forget to drink lots of water too. As that helps increase you amnio fluid. Please keep us updated. You are blessed with an awesome loving husband, it must be such a relief.
