Hey ladies

Thanks for all the advice on hospital bags and feeding vests etc. I feel like I have no idea what I am doing.

Hope you are all feeling ok today... these aches and pains really are hard... not long to go now.

I was in hospital over the weekend... they did a scan on Monday and my fluid has been going up a bit. I leak less when I am horizontal and I have been drinking coconut water and stevia which are supposed to promote amniotic fluid production. The doctor discharged me yesterday with strict instructions so hubby has been serving me food in bed and stocked me up with snacks next to the bed and he is coming home to make me lunch. Its times like these when you see the best in your partner and you love them more for it. The doc says if I stay horizontal... I should make it to full term provided nothing else goes wrong... I have to watch my baby's movements closely, keep an eye out for infection or contractions and they will keep monitoring his growth closely. Its all very scary... but amazing what they can do with modern medicine. The one thing motivating me to stay still is that my doc said I could still have natural labour if I make it to full term. so fingers crossed :)

23Aug2014 - First positive test of my first pregnancy (4weeks & 3 days) :)

Morning ladies!

@ Faffy - also going for my 31 week visit today (SNAP! :cheer: ) very anxious to see what's happening with LO. Last time we went she was still lying transverse, I hope she's turned since. I've tried "feeling" her by means of location of kicks and movements but sometimes I feel her up top, other times down below and along my sides especially at night.

Regarding changing table height, I would recommend same height as your kitchen tops... that is ergonomically designed to be the best height for working while standing and giving you sufficient leverage to pick stuff up too.

@Nels - also had a bout of tummy issues lately. First time I thought it was something I ate.. Got better but now it seems to happen at least once a week and there is no correlation to food etc. Wonder what it could be. Shame, my DH get's a huge fright every time this happens and I run for the loo....

Ladies, I need to find a maternity store that offers a range at reasonable prices.. Can anyone recommend a store in Johannesburg / Pretoria area? Need to invest in those feeding cami's now.

Morning Ladies

how are you doing?
Faffy@ I prefer something around my waist line, that way I am not bending or having tiried shoulders from bending my arms.
I seem to be having tummy issues lately, I have been up since midnight and I feel like the walking dead.
How is the exercise going ladies? Do any of you feel like pressure on your pelvic bone? I seem to be experiencing that as well, like he is grinding his head on my bones;(, I have to squat to lessen the discomfort.
Met with my doula yesterday and had a great chat, seeing her again next week to discuss my birth plan.
Starreyed@ how are you?

Went for another check up yesterday (31 week scan). All looks good
Baby is 1.8kg (Round about 31 to 32 weeks in measurements).

Wanted to ask..How high should your baby changing area be, relative to you? better higher or lower?

Hope you are all doing alright? x

Nels

Yes, I will be going for the freezer meals option, not just for hubby during my hospital stay but for at least a month's worth of meals to help us adjust. Are you a pinterest user / follower? If so, I can recommend quite a few pin boards there that has fab ideas for these... Yum, how hungry I get while I post this now ;) Have a sudden thing for pastries, cakes... all baked goodies BUT I suppose I need to keep the weight in check...

Anyone else as worried about the weight gained to date? 12 kgs and counting.. *sigh* :pinch:
