when I was in labour I wore their "sexy" gowns so only wore my clothes the day after. I know hospitals rules have changed alot so I would suggest you asked them if its a must to bring a birthing nightie of your own before you buy it for nothing. At least yoga pants fit you fine, me its mostly my birthday suit and gown that fits me fine:/ #hides , thankfully I am alone at home during the day and have no one to dress for.

I have a few alva pocket nappies. But even though they are one size fits all they will be too big for newborns. So we bought 6 newborn covers from earthbabies that we will use over prefolds amd glodinas. And we will sell them when they are too small.

I am feeling better! Think the tissue salts really help. Faffymom i think nr 6 is called mental and physical exhaustion... thats the one im using.

Gloei, i often feel like i have bladder infection, but it ends up being babas head on my bladder. Really sore sometimes. So i pee aaaaaaall day

Shame my 5 yr old is also really learning to keep himself busy. He is doing so well, very proud of him.

I used a button down pjs that i got from woolies 5 yrs ago and sadly gave away.... i will go look for one again this time. But it is a bit of a mission to work buttons.... will rather buy a feeding top if i can find one thats affordable. They are so easy to use.

I have a babyshower end of the month. My mom is coming then and she will help me get my bag ready then aswell. I will be 34 weeks then so will give us enough time. I bought elizabeth annes laundry liquid... cant wait to start washing. But dont want to do it too early so will leave that for the end of the month too.

Thanks ladies! Glad to know I am not the only one Nelsn, I was sooo glad to see your recommendation for a comfy breastfeeding vest and yoga pants. At this point I yoga pants, almost the only pants that still fits properly (well kinda) tsk tsk tsk...

We're in a bit of a rough spot now... wanted to get some home renovations done before "nesting", so started remodelling of kitchen, waterproofing entire roof, fitting an aircon in LO's room etc in December... they are STILL at it! Nursery not done yet and the URGE is strong within this one... Phew, I can only hope they finish this week (another promise), otherwise headlines may read: "Pregnant woman strangles contractor with waterproofing membrane" hee hee heee...

Oh and one more question... they said to bring comfy clothes for labour. Huh? I plan to go natural, so now I'm wondering if I'll be attempting birth in comfy clothes or do they actually dress you in those sexy little hospital apron thingies whilst you give it a go?

Gloie@ no we don't have anyone to look after Amara, I have found a 24hr daycare that charges a small fee but I don't want to take him to a place where he doesn't know anyone. My mom works shifts and is far and is always out during her free time I don't want to feel like I am burdening her with my responsibilities. I'm the oldest and would not leave my son with my brother, hell will break loose. So my only option is to have a doula (who I am meeting on Friday) as my birth partner and help my husband rest and take care of Amara. And I just realised yesterday that school closed on 1 April for Easter which will cause more havoc if Ii go overdue and give birth during that time as he will be with us\me 24\7. So that is my problem

Faffymom@ I like your idea of buying as you go. These nappies are not cheap at all and you want to make the best choice. Glad to know you have started preparing.

Gloiee@ I have thought of them and just like you have read and gone through the fb nappy page and felt overwhelmed, at least i have Bamboos in addition to the Glodinas together with additional inserts and biodegradable liners. I am also a bit sceptical on shopping online.

I wont have a baby shower, at least I don't think so. With my first I was still in corporate and they made one for me and had a small one from my friends. So this time I made sure I buy what I needed beforehand and also still have my sons big ticket items which he hardly used. So so far we have what we need.
last night dh went into a panic and asked if we have done everything like washing baby clothes, beds etc as he was thinking there is still alot he needs to do. Poor man , now he is becoming Commander and coming up with additional things that need to be done. I think he is realising that in 5 short weeks or more baby might be here and he want to be super prepared unlike last time.

with first I hated buttoning and unbuttoning so this time I got feeding vests and yoga loose pants.
I have baby grows, socks, few vests, 10. Nappies, disposable underwear, wipes, zinc n castor oil, earbuds, cotton wool, my toiletries. I hope am not forgetting anything.

Ronelle, I am also struggling with finding front buttoning pj's or nightie somehow although with my first I managed to find 2. Think they were from Edgars if not Jet though, cant really remember since it was almost 5yrs ago.. But thanks for the mens pj idea, lol... will def go that route if I dont come right...

Cant really say what important fo the bag as well, guess as long as you have your toiletries Distant memory too...

Faffymum, no shower for me. requested not to have one or not intending to plan one myself. With this one being my 2nd one, im really indifferent about it but would prefer not.

Hospital bags, nurseries, nestings, birth plans are signs we are almost there ladies, almost there......
