hi there ladies!

Ayesha glad you're doing bit better considering everything thats on your plate. One day at a time!

Stella my next appointment is the 8th of June, i'll be 30 weeks then! Thereafter my visits are every 3 weeks until mid August when little boy is due to arrive.

Ctelly & Daerhel, wonderful that you guys are still studying! I really wish i could go back & carry on my studies a little bit longer. Hopefully down the line I can do some sort of postgrad diploma in something. I graduated with a BSc a few years back, but would LOVE to get into education!

On my side, I had a very uneventful long weekend. Which was fine by me! I keep on reminding myself that the more rest & relaxation I get the better :) went to for a tour of the maternity ward where i'll be having baby (milnerton medi clinic). Seems very nice & calm, not very busy either. I'm also happy with their ethos on baby & mom care - they want you to have as must skin to skin time with little one, will only take them if you ask for a short break (you know, to shower & regain some sense of being human). They also prefer no dummies for the first few days in hospital, which I'm quite happy with :)
I've also come to the decision that i'll be resigning from my current job effective from when I'm supposed to go on maternity leave. Can't commit to leaving home 8 days a month for business trips! DH is supportive, even though he's worried i'll get too comfortable at home & not want to go job hunting come the new year.

good luck with the studies and those exams. hats of to you 2 for getting that done.
i don't think i will manage working, having a baby and studying.

Dearhell, sorry to say, but i do not think the sleeping will improve. from here on as baba grows, he puts more and more pressure and there are less and less space for other organs - so more regular trips to the loo in the night.
and the sentence we all hate to hear - nature is starting to make you get used to waking up at night for when baby is here :silly:

last night G actually slept through (i was a bit shocked) but i had to get up 3 times to go to the loo.
up to now the trips to the loo didn't bother me at all, because i just go every time i get up for G.
the irony of my life - after 13 months he is fianally starting to sleep a bit better, now i have to get up anyway

me 35, DH 39

Ouch! Good luck with that.
I've only had bladder infections so far.
Dr recommended I drink 1 litre cranberry fruit juice for every 1 litre of water, and I haven't had a bladder infection since! :) Thank goodness for small mercies!

I try my best to soak up as much info as I can. But being more into the accounting alot of the payroll and HR stuff is going over my head, I work with VAT daily, but not in as much detail as they want me to remember.
I blame the preggy brain!!!

Hi Daerhel - I agree with your "argument" :) , leave should then be granted.. paid or unpaid. Thanks - I'm like a little sponge when it comes to law. Its so extremely interesting to me, especially when I can relate to scenarios. Good luck with you exam.. I suck at accounting or anything related :(
The work-part of this day is almost done.. Little Alexander is kicking up a storm.. and I've got lower abdominal pains.. possible infection (again) urgh!

Ctelly, I'm doing a Bookkeeping Diploma through the ICB. I'm writing Payroll and Monthly SARS Returns on Tuesday.
Payroll is mostly all the BCEA and HR stuff along with how to work out all the different remunerations, PAYE tax brackets and so on.
Third Trimester is by law subject to the 6 weeks maternity leave, tho during research I have found cases where women had to have c-sections for miscarriage in the 2nd trimester and were also granted the 6 weeks leave, as it is classified as major abdominal surgery.
If the employer is not willing to give leave as maternity it should be allowed to be taken off as sick leave or unpaid leave (if they're really mean!) as recovery is just as long.

Sigh... the BCEA was the easiest part to study even tho it's even longer than the VAT404 (which I cannot memorise no matter how hard I try!)

Good Luck for your exam too!
And Kudos to you on doing your Law degree... my sister is studying law now, after getting Honours in psychiatry. That woman just loves studying!
Tho Law is a pre-requisite for criminal psychology which drew her interest after doing her practical (state work?) at the Soweto police station.

Me, I just don't have the energy, time or patience for that much studying.....

Hi All.
Ayesha - hope everything falls into place for you and you are blessed in the months / years to come! thinking of you!
Daerhel - what are you studying..? I'm writing Labour Law next week (I'm a Law student). just a side comment.. as far as I know the BCEA does say that the employer must give 6 weeks leave but this is only if the miscarriage was in the 3rd trimester.. this is also included into our company policy.
All of the best Daerhel, hopefully you'll get your answers soon and all will work for the best. I've also struggled to sleep but mostly due to extreme sinus problems. Good luck with the exam. I'm writing on Thursday.
