So sorry for your loss Daerhel, I lost my kitty cat in November & people couldn't understand what I was so upset over and said stuff like, "It's just a cat, you can buy another one" not understanding that this was my baby/friend/family member and you can't just "buy" another one. Really sorry hun...

They not just pets they part of our world, and we are there whole world i love my puppy and would be a mess if i lost her so i totally understand hw u feel

Daerhel I don't usually like accessing moomie from my phone but felt I need to now.
I 3000000% know where you are coming from. I had a cat named Bling. Bling was my everything. He moved to Miami with us too. There was no way I was leaving him behind. I didn't care what it cost and hubby knew that.

In September 2012 we had to have extensive tests done as he kept getting these sores on his face. The tests alone cost R15 000
I think my husband was going to kill me....but again he knew there was no choice.
Poor bling was diagnosed with an auto immune disease. The dermatologist vet said we could try manage it and he could live a normal life....but had to take steroids and chemo drugs for the rest of his life. We made many changes and had to go for blood tests weekly. In December we went away, so I paid another fortune for a pet sitter to take over the care and medicating.
Sadly, his condition worsened and it was just becoming too much. On top of this, hubby had left his job in Miami and we were to move to France.
I had to make the choice to have my baby put down
Worst day of my life. 23 December 2012 of course since I wasn't even in Miami, I had to ask a friend to take him (this haunts me so badly that I wasn't there to say goodbye).
I cried and cried and cried for weeks!!!!!!!! And now, 2 and a half years later, I do still cry. I know people don't understand. But they don't need to. He was my precious little baby boy

Anyway sorry for the sad story but I just wanted you to know that you are not alone and us animal fanatics are out there and are here for you xxxxxx

My kitty was my best friend and my little boy for years before I met my dear fiance. He was always there when I needed to cry or just be loved, somehow he seemed to know when I needed extra attention.
I'm going to miss my Taylor kitty so much!

I post on the trying for 2015 and 2016 baby but do browse the various topics. Please do not feel alone, I had to part with my beloved cat on my birthday last year as he got very ill within 3 days, I had him for 10 years. I hear you, its heartbreaking! I read this poem over and over when the loss gets a bit to much for me, hope it helps at least a little

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

Hi Daerhel - so sorry to hear about the loss of your little kitty. Its terrible. I understand what you mean although I haven't gone through it (thank goodness). I would not know how to behave if something should happen to my two puppies.
