@LouiseMarie. Probiotics are a good start. You can get clotrimazole vaginal creams over the counter, Canesten being the original, but it's ridiculously expensive (over R100/R200 depending on the variant) and the generics are just fine (between R30 and R50). Is the thrush internal or just an external itch? You can also just apply the cream outside if that's all that's needed. All the creams package inserts do advise that if you are pregnant you should consult your doctor first, but I know that they are often used so the choice is up to you.

Another remedy that might be safe as a "douche" of sorts is to apply Bulgarian yoghurt to your sensitive areas - the good bacteria can start fighting the fungus. It's also soothing if you're feeling a bit of burning.

Oh, also try to lay off any extra sugar because that's prime food for the fungus. No bubble baths either.

Morning Mommies...

Urgh  , I woke up this morning and realised I've got Thrush...

I never got it with my first, but have now read that it's quite normal in pregnancy due to all the hormones making it "prime condition". :pinch:

I know everyone advises against douching - but I always douched before getting pregnant with a mild vinegar and water solution. NEVER had any problems and also never struggled falling pregnant because I was doing it... But I know the risk involved of douching whilst pregnant.

Is there anything I can get over the counter? To go to my gynae will cost me R600 just for the subscription... Which in my opinion I think is ridiculous!

I've started taking pro-biotics as well, but not sure if this will work?

I've had a bit of a stressful period at work this past week, and think this is definitely stress related.

I didn't buy a belly binder, but got myself one of those "body shaping" pants st Woolies. It worked great for me and was half the price compared to the band.

Last post before I go @kimmy that's a pretty good question I bought those really expensive tops that you can use for breastfeeding and are meant to assist with the stomach I didn't find it worked at all, however I believe those binders are amazing! Let's hope someone has tried and tested one ;)

Good night ladies

I've tried eating smaller meals throughout the day but it just doesn't alleviate it. I'm wondering if certain foods make it worse. It's pretty annoying, by 3.30pm I'm so uncomfortable. Was hoping someone has found a solution,

Will keep trying all options! Have a lovely evening
