Leewe, sorry for the late reply, I think as long as you past the first trimester buying for baby is fine, I didnt buy a lot of clothes because people Love to buy clothes for baby showers, so bought the necessities such as nappies, creams, bath stuff etc. I didnt go mad I waited for my baby showers and then bought whatever else was required.

I dont know how many of you know of antipeol cream but it worked wonders for nappy rash for my LG - its insanely expensive so only if the rash came about did I use it and to this day I still use it.

My LG also was born with a blocked tear duct - you get awesome little cleansing wipes for babies eyes Dr Fischer Eye-care baby which i would definitely buy just to clean babies eyes, they come in sachets which are awesome to put in your nappy bag.

Then there's Traumeels for bruises and inflammation and Weceson powder for the umbilical cord - so much better than surgical spirits.

Any of you other second time moms have creams or ideas that arent the common ideas for baby conditions?

Ive hit the half way mark Hubby actually was surprised last night at how BIG I am, its as if he hasnt seen me naked ever, and while bathing with my daughter last night looked at me in shock and just blurted out geez you are BIG, then to cover up said thats because its a boy

@Pillpusher thats such a cute little cover up for a buy - will try see if I can find it here otherwise my idea of just putting a few wet wipes should work - I hope... trial and error it will be.

On the topic of voicing your opinion - seriously I dont think you need to apologise or feel ostracized at all. This is a forum, things can easily be taken the wrong way because we not in conversation where our tone of voices can change and show that we not putting down the idea we just dont agree with it. Thats why i joked with you and said i want to show you my ideas vs the photographers ideas.

Sometimes in our pregnant minds something just sounds so awesome and then when youve had baby you look back at the pics and think WTF!

I have pics where im like oh no look at my face because I love smiling, I look aweful serious, and I couldnt open up my eyes properly with the fan, that she had to stop the fan too. Everyone has their own preference.

Everyone's talking about this Pep Home... I need to have a look where's one close to me.

I might have to opt for a chiropractor later... I also suffered from it in my first pregnancy, but it was only the last few weeks... Now I'm starting to have it from 2nd trimester already, so I can only imagine how I will feel by my 3rd trimester...

Another symptom that I noticed peaking since yesterday evening...is itchy breasts. Not my areola's but more the sides and underneath. So I'm wondering if it's got something to do with my milk ducts? It's just akward.

@LouiseMarie and HVDB on the back pain. Sounds like sciatica. I had it for a long while and tried everything for it, but nothing helped. Someone recommended a chiropractor and she performed a miracle! I was pain free for the first time in months.

My gynecologist warned me it might come back, as it is common pregnancy symptom as baby/uterus presses on your nerves. The only thing that helps for me is a epsom salt bath and hot compress and ofcourse a visit to the chiropractor.

@pillpusher Don't beat yourself up about it! Everyone is allowed to have their own opinions and tastes. All is good. As LouiseMarie said... bygones No worries!

With regards to the baskets, I asked my mom-in-law to buy them for me at IKEA. She lives in Qatar, so they are quite cheap there. I saw almost the same ones at PEP Home and Ackermans a while ago.
We bought the IKEA Hemnes dresser (www.nevadafurniture.co.za/bedroom/hemnes-8-drawers) last year, so the IKEA baskets work perfectly! Nevada furniture imports IKEA furniture, which is amazing!
