Morning all!
Yoh.... to try and remember all that has been said and asked... really busy forum this one... but I love it. I have been following all via email.
Can you believe it, my Darling Cara is 4 weeks today. She is still very tiny, but she is gaining weight and is definitely growing taller. Ouma is going to have to adjust all her clothing, I think the clothes that will fit length wise, will be to big around her waist area and if it fits around her waist area, it will be to short for her arms and legs... poor thing, she is going to have the same problems mommy has when buying clothes

she is however fitting into her prem clothes now...
I started expressing milk today. The reason: Only to build up storage. I was allergic to almost all milk as a baby, and apparently formula did not work well with me, I was on goats milk. Hopefully Cara has her Daddy's immune system which is very strong as he hardly ever gets sick. (he was never of sick from school or work, has a 100% attendance for both)
I read that once you start introducing formula, it is good to start mixing it with breast milk... have any of you done it or read about it? I only managed to get 40ml from one breast, I will pump only from one breast at a time and only in the morning (switching breasts obviously to avoid Cara from favouring only one breast), leaving the other one for Cara to suckle on.
I have also noticed that Cara has bad reflux. I asked Dr Google what I can do about it as she has ALL the signs. BabyCentre.com recommends that it is best to feed baby in an upright positions, which is rather difficult when breast feeding, but, I find that it is really working for her. I battle though as I have to sit in a strange position and my back really starts hurting. They also recommend that when burping, I should keep her upright for at least 20min..after feeding which also works. Since I started doing that, we have not had one incident where she spits/vomits all over the show. Oh and I also burp her every 3-5min when feeding.
Dummy: Cara suckles on one sometimes after feeding, that is the only way can get some Telement Drops in, Telement really works for those cramps. She does however spits the dummy out when she had enough. I also find that the dummy helps with the reflux. DH hates the thing, but if it helps her, I couldn't care less that he thinks... giegiegie...
Sleep: Strangely enough, I am getting better sleep now than when I was pregnant. I only get once during the night for a feed with, when I was preggies, I woke up every time I turned around and not to speak about going to the loo. So girls, there is hope at the end of the tunnel. Just hope that you all will have it as easy as I do
Wonder how Candypops is doing?
Oh oh.... a little mouth is calling me now... chat later again.
