Morning everyone,

My last working wednesday today  so happy to be going on ml from friday.

@Kimmy, i stored my lg campcot matress and changing mat in a black bag and taped it. it seems like its still 100% so i see no reason why i cant use it again! im going to have a "changing station" and a campcot downstairs as well as upstairs so for me it was very convenient only having to buy one of each instead of 2.

@Aden & LM, i know the feeling. also had a couple of days where i couldnt get myself out the car. but after a good cry i felt a bit better. i think the anxiety is just part of "being pregnant" so unfortunately we just have to deal with it and its one of those things that we need to take in our stride. Like Dori says (Finding Nemo) "just keep swimming" that's my new motto.

@Lauz, please keep us updated as to your pains. if it persists rather go to hospital and let them make sure it isnt labour pains. they might be able to stop it if it is.
as for you lg, what seemed to be the problem last night?? was it a ear ache?? i know when Leandi has a restless night its usually earache 9 times out of 10.

Hope everyone has a good day!!

Wow Kimmy!!! So you're also prone to big babies :P Your husband is big, which makes sense? Me and hubby are both "kortgatte", but my daughter was also a whopping 3.73kg's @ 37 weeks.

On the mattrass - as long as it's still firm and not soiled, I can't see why you can't reuse? Just maybe put a new mattrass protector on?

I'm getting soooooooooo gatvol! As previously mentioned, my parents stay on our property... I've got 4 weeks left till my scheduled c-sec @ 39 weeks. Can you believe my parents this morning - they now expect me to drive them around in Pretoria CBD to go to the SAPS administration offices and SARS, to sort out my dad's Tax!!! I nearly lost it!!! I just looked at my mother and said to her "are you serious? Do you not realise I am 34 weeks pregnant and that I'm so damn uncomfortable, it's a mission for me just to go each afternoon to go fetch my daughter from school (which is 2.8km from our house!)"...

Honestly?! Like I'm at home to play chapperone for them?! How freaking inconsiderate!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why my parents nowadays just make my skin crawl... I haven't even told DH, cause I know he would strip his moer!

Kimmy SIDS didn't even cross my mind lol I only really replaced them because we have a cat that sheds his hair like there is no tomorrow and I just thought even though it was always covered I don't want my newborn to have to have even a spec of cat hair on the mattress.

Louise and Clueless, that's what I thought as well but it just is strange because I had it twice yesterday morning in a space of 15 min then normal but stronger BH's throughout the day ( they even made me feel lightheaded) then again one last night like I said and today nothing, Just sore and uncomfortable hips and pelvic area. If at all I get it again today I'll be phoning my gynae. Thank ladies

Congrats PP!! Gorgeous pics! Little El is beautiful and a great weight as well! For the discomfort of the cut, if you need to cough, place a pillow over your tummy (and the cut) and then press down gently but firmly before you cough. The nurses gave me the tip last time and it really does help quite a bit. I also found that after the second day, the pain and discomfort gets better very quickly, you'll start walking today and it will improve significantly after that. Perhaps have your hubby bring you some Jungle Juice (mixture of Blackthorn Elixir, Rehidrat, Apple juice and a few drops Rescue remedy). I lived on the stuff while in hospital and apparently it helps with milk production.

Zandri, so happy to hear little Stephan is doing great! That is such a relief, I really hope he can come out of NICU quickly.

Kimmy, regarding the mattress, I am also re-using my eldest's mattress. We've always had washable waterproof protectors over it, so I see no reason to buy a new one. We will probably re-use the waterproof protectors too (they're breathable and washable).

Lauz, that sounds really scary! I never had labour pains with my eldest, since c-sect was done early, but it does sound like what the midwife at antenatal classes described as labour. All of the best ad look after yourself!

Have a wonderful day ladies!

Lauz... that's labour pains my dear?!?! As far as I know - any pain originating from your back moving forward to your tummy, is considered labour pains. BH only happens "in front".

Aden, gosh I know how you feel... I'm beyond uncomfortable at this stage!!! I can't even imaging having to still work @ this stage?! Strongs for you my dear!!!! At least you have some cooler weather there in the Cape...
