So I'm awake now, feeling very tired from pain medication. Keep on looking at El to make sure she's breathing. She's amazing. Very uncomfortable from my cut, needing to cough but it hurts like a mother trucker! A bit annoyed 'cause I asked someone to help me wash my face and brush my teeth, but it doesn't seem like that's a priority on day 1. Otherwise the nursing staff are very helpful - I feel like I'm the baby!
El was 3.07kg and 49cm tall. She's had her first poo (and then some) amd (TMI) I've managed to pass gas which is supposed to be good. She was shown off in the post-op recovery ward - nurses called each other to come look at the beautiful baby. My dad wanted to walk around the postnatal ward and show her off, but I managed to get him to just stay sitting with her. I feel sad for my little brother-in-law, niece and nephews in PE cause they aren't allowed in to see her and they've been so excited. Apparently it was all they could talk about yesterday morning.
Aside from the pain I'm in now, probably the most painful thing was inserting the swab for the micro birth. My doctor still apologized and I told her not to worry because I wanted it. She's said she'll try a different method for her next patient that requests it.
@Zandri - hope Stephan comes out of NICU soon. Have your preeclampsia symptoms gone? Very special that our two arrived on the same day.
Good luck for packing your bags, Kimmy.
Gosh! Sooo dopey now, better get back to sleep!
