Hi there Mommies!
Yes I am breast feeding, we did not bump heads on this one and she latched almost immediately. My milk only started coming in 3 days after birth. I have noticed that I have a lot of milk, and my boobies are rock hard, she drinks about 10-12 min per breast per feeding session which is every 2 and half hours. We are trying to get her to pick up weight, as after she lost her weight in the hospital (which I know is normal) she only weighed 1.870kg. I will have to do the coli-flower leave thing. I was thinking of maybe milking out and freezing it, I know you can freeze breast milk for approximately 3 months?
What would you mommies do, as i think I have a lot of milk and am worried that she is not drinking enough to give me some relief.
@Lauz, we did not pay a deposit for the stem cell thing as we were still discussing it. We made the emergency choice and got the kit from the hospital just before we went into surgery. We would only have sorted out payment and deposit afterwards. BUT, they had to open the kit in theater and as it is a sterile product, we had to pay for the kit only, which is R3700, but what happened in our case of not being able to even extract a little, and not use the kit at all they only charged us R1700 for breaking the seal. They said that what happened to us happens to only in 5% of the cases.
Girls you must take it easy. Don't stress too much about not being ready or prepared. We thought that we were 100% prepared but not 100% prepared for two weeks early! But it is not a big deal as everything just falls into place in anyway. We/you/us will NEVER be 100% ready, so just relax and enjoy!
I still can't believe this pregnancy is over. I can't even imagine what I felt like only days ago. The uncomfortableness, the bloatedness, the peeing all the time, the heartburn, the swollen feet etc is completely a thing of the past, totally forgotten!
GOOD luck to all of you! I will keep all updated on this forum and will move over to a new one as soon as we have more babies!
