Hi all you pregnant mama's

hope you and your babies are all well.

I am feeling extremely, extremely down after my scan today, not because of me or baby, we both doing well, baby is growing wonderfully and has reached 1.3KG already, I did go book my hospital bed, did the hospital tour just have to call in to confirm when I want to do my 4D scan.

So let me tell you why I am so emotional right now, by appointment with the gynae was at 09h30, there was one mum and her hubby before me at 09h00, I have seen them at all my visits cause she tends to have the same appointment dates as me. So she looked very tired and grumpy but she waited for her time to go in, by 10am they still were in with the gynae and the gynae called her assistants in and the gynae came to tell me, I have an emergency we will be running late, I'm really sorry but I will still see you after I'm done with this patient.

So she escorts the mum and dad out, I thought they going into hospital, then the assistant came and said, doctor said to explain to you that she is taking the patient downstairs to see the fetal specialist, cause gynae could not find a heart beat, I became so emotional girls, I started tearing cause they explained to me this patient is entering her 38th week, she has been coming in weekly since 36 weeks and the baby was fine, they came in for the weekly check and to confirm the date for her Caesar for next week, I prayed so hard that the gynae machine was wrong or not operating properly.

An hour later the gynae and the parents came back, and as the mum entered the room, she burst into tears and we all knew her little baby boy had passed away, I started crying and could not stop cause I felt so heart sore for her, she was devastated and her hubby could not stop crying. the gynae took her into the second consulting room and I could her how this mummy was crying, what did I do wrong, how could I not know, he was moving this morning, I cannot get over those words!!! I feel so devastated I can only imagine these parents. the gynae spent a lot of time counselling them and called their families to come see them there. the last words I heard the mum saying was "please don't take him out, leave him there". they booked her Caesar for this afternoon, it's the earliest they could :( :( :(

I only went in at 11h30 to get my turn but talking to the gynae, she was crying and was so hard for her to continue working cause she said in her entire career this is the second baby she lost and even she could not believe everything was fine, what could have gone wrong with this baby, the fetal specialist also confirmed, the baby passed away within the last few hours, the baby and all it's organs and parts were fully formed, no abnormalities or anything that can explain what happened, the baby just passed away.

I'm sorry to share this if it offends anyone, but I feel so traumatised today, I feel so sad so devastated, this was her second baby, who would know this would happen. I just prayed for the parents and their little angel who did not want to join them, and I feel very scared also, this is one of my greatest fears as pregnancy progresses, all we can do is pray and hope for the best.

So I did not enjoy my appointment today, although I had a great check up and got a lot done, my heart is very saddened!!

Hello Ladies

Its been so long. Work has been one long drag of deadlines, and the weeks are flying by. I managed to buy a nappy bag, and a few other bits and bobs for baby this weekend. I am kind of making it my mission to buy something every time we need to go and shop - that way it doesn't become a chore, and I am not stressed out by the amount of money that one spends as its not a huge shop. Got nappies on special in Dischem the other day as well, and the wet wipes were also quite reasonable.

Zaza: I havent done any in utero stimulation like the light effect you described, but we have been talking to the bump and it settles into a calming swoosh when Daddy talks.. also quite likes classical music for some odd reason, especially when I'm driving in the car. About those calf cramps - yikes! I went to work late during the week because one of them knocked me sideways, and there is no way I could drive.

Lashy: Congrats on your new home! Hope the transfer goes through quickly and easily. Hope you will get movers to assist you to move - I am so tired, I cant even think how it would be for you to have to pack and move soon..

Carmyburlo: Adorable bump! And I also went to have a peek at the other forums (Due Sept), and to be honest, it was exciting, but also a bit scary. Like for example I realised that I don't exactly want family there immediately after the birth, but I know hubby will have a huge issue with it. Also, I don't want people kissing the newborn (maybe when older, but that immunity!), and I am not sure how I can politely get people to not kiss the child.. so many worries, so much time! Am I just being a pregnant hormonal overload of epic proportions?

Nix: So sorry to hear that Danielle had bronchitis! Poor little baby! Happy its cleared up though. And your daughters have such beautiful names picked out for them. I especially love Isabella. Your bump is too adorable! If I saw you at the supermarket I would probably be one of those wierdos who reached out and touched you. (Okay not really, but you can bet I would be telling whoever is with me that I want to!). Sometimes I forget I also have a bump - although its not that evident yet.

Dalene: I am just as exhausted. I could so do with an afternoon nap, but of course most days I don't get one, except sometimes at weekends. Found that I have to be in bed by nine pm to get enough rest between the pee stops, which are usually every 3 hours. Maybe my body is just preparing me for breastfeeding every 3 hours or more - I don't know. I am also ravenously hungry!

Happi1: Good luck with exams! We are rooting and praying for you. Hope it all works out well, and that you have all the success in the world. I have no idea how you do it, I would be too exhausted to study I promise you, but let nothing get you down, you awesome woman.

Thats it from me, hope everyone has a great week ahead, and I'm looking forward to hearing more from everyone.

xxx NewMommy

Hi ladies

Sorry I have been MIA, so much on my plate, I have an exam this Friday, so things are hectic on my side.

Welcome to the new moomies! luv the scans and the bump pics, will post my soon.

Just a quick update, saw Gynae this past sat, I was exactly 28 weeks, my boy weighed 1.2kg, gynae is happy. He has turned yet, bt gynae said we will worry at 36 weeks, its still too early. Seeing him again on the 3rd of October, I will be 32 weeks, hopefully he would have turned. so at the moment its either C-section or natural, but either is ok with me, as long as my baby is fine.

Take care preggy fairies and have a lovely day

Hello lovely preggy ladies :)

It is Friday :silly: and so cold here by us today,

How are you all doing? Apart from extreme tiredness I am feeling quite ok. I am taking everything easy and SLOWLY nowadays.

I am nearing my 3rd trimester and will be 27 weeks on Monday. I need some advise as to what to pack in baby's hospital bag ( I really forgot as it's been almost 5 years  )

Hope you are all fine and well,

Have a lovely weekend :-)

So I found this hilarious, I am sure all the second time mum's will agree this is what it will be like:

and all the new mum's have something to look forward to!!!!

I also found this article about baby sign language, not sure how true will have to test when baby arrives:
