Hi ladies,

Thuriey - big prayers being sent up for both of you. But your little man seems to be a strong fighter so I'm sure everything will be fine. Enjoy the cuddles!!

I'm still in Mauritius doing very little. Still struggling with the swollen feet and ankles a bit so will have to start those epsom salt baths when I get back. Luckily I have a docs appointment next week so he can check us both out. But she is kicking up a storm and I'm sure she's enjoying all the healthy food.

One other thing I am struggling with is my bladder - I'm finding that it is very weak. There is a history with the ladies in my family and I don't think my age helps. Very annoying!

Happy baking ladies! Let us know how you are getting along.

My dearest Thuriey!! :)

On what a journey have you not been...and that while we have all been completely unaware of it all. During your last post I got the idea that you are very busy and will not post often, so I never thought that your absence actually could have possibly indicated that you are going through a difficult time. I am so sorry about A's premature birth, BUT
I AM SO DELIGHTED that he is such a strong premmie and that you are coping so well. WELL DONE!!!! You are such a star!

He is so beautiful and so tiny. Such a miracle. I will be keeping him and you in my prayers.

Interesting:
Just a while back I told the ladies about how Magnesium Sulphate is used during premature births.

Hi Ladies I haven't been in a a long time...Renner that I was having a bit if sweeping and bp issues...well on the 3rd of August I had to overnight as my BP was high and they wanted to a 24 hour pee sample...I did that and went home the next day with a script for hypotone to keep my BP in check...Gynie called to confirm that my urine sample was abnormal, meaning she had found protein in my urine, she said to keep taking the meds and check my book throughout the day and see her two weeks later...BP was still high and then a few days after my overnight stay I was prescribed another tab to help with the bp.

My appointment date ...17 August rolled around and when we got to the doctor's office she was still not happy with my BP...she did an ultrasound and discovered that baby was measuring behind and that he was weighing about a 100g less (now remember at all appointments baby was either on par or measuring a few days ahead , She wanted to admit me immediately because at the end of the visit my bp was still high... I asked to just quickly go home to sort out things and grab a bag...at this point I thought it would just be another overnight stay, the following day I went to the fetal assessment centre to confirm what she had found and they agreed that at 27 weeks baby was only measuring at 26 weeks and that the flow from the placenta to him was very low...and his weight was about 760!!!
Throughout all this baby was still kicking and moving as he was , with a strong heartbeat etc. I was put on meds and my monitored around the clock...the Thursday I was booked in an administered a steroid injection 24 hours later I got another one as they wanted to be prepared in case my boy had to be fetched , I was also given magnesium sulphate after the docs findings were confirmed as it then looked like that I would need to Ceasar me that weekend ...luckily my and his stats were stable and they pushed to keep him in until the 23/08, that date came around and we are still going strong , and doc decided that she would fetch him on the 25/08...

The 24th I was used down to high care , for them to insert a catheter and also so they could keep me under constant watch while they administered some more magnesium sulphate to help protect baby during the birth.

I had a Caesar And Azhar was born a few minute before 2pm weighing 730...and crying!!!

It's been a hectic few days with last Friday being the most taxing , but we pulled through...Azhar has been on my breastmilk since the day they started him on feeds which was the Saturday after he was born ( luckily for me I got produce and have been expressing every day) yesterday went j left NICU his feeds were up to 4 .5 with it being put up to 5 ml (max feed) today...at yesterday he weighed in at 790g!!! I can't wait to hear what it is today

He never needed a ventilator she. He was born. Cause his lungs were doing well, his heart is do g good and so is his gut...every nappy is a poo nappy and his nappy at 6PM had changing poo on it...meaning he has gotten rid of all the meconium...for one so small he surely makes big messes LOL!

He had the CPAP machine in till the 02/09 , and when they cleaned and changed him and while busy with taking off the CPAP machine he showed them he can breathe without it, his doc then decided to move him to nasal cannulas and yesterday said that today they are taking it off...he also had to get extra nutrients through a drip but this was taken off on Sunday ...one by one the wires are going...and because the nasal cannula are coming out today , they might be moving him to a close incubator and the plan is for me to start with kangaroo care.

Enjoy the rest of your pregnancies ladies , I'll still be checking in!

Also please keep us in your prayers that this little monkey grows from strength to strength to come soon...oh they told us that he might need to stay in NICU for two months.

I do not have the swollen joints, but I tend to get bad cramps later on during my pregnancies and yes...it is so sore!
My FS advised me during this pregnancy to start taking Caltrate twice a day from 20 week onwards and that if I then start getting cramps at night time, I should take 1x Caltrate in the morning and 2x Caltrate before bedtime.

I am currently still on 2x Caltrate a day...and still fine so far.
I also think the bath salt helps a lot.

Reef: Me too! I try to sleep on my left as much as possible, but I tend to get a very sore hip during the night and cannot seem to ease that pain unless I turn onto my back (which I know I should not be doing anymore). Pillows...and more pillows. That is all that helps me out a little.

Are you all enjoying the movements? I am so in love with that!

Hi ladies,

The swollen ankles seem to come and go. I think it has to do with me sitting at my desk for too long. So I have to make sure I get up often... it helps. Thanks for the advice - definitely follow that route if it gets worse.

Pinky - I don't have leg cramps but I seem to wake up and I have lay myself sore so need to roll over... if that makes sense. I do get hip pain. Sleeping badly in general.

Lucky for me, I leave for a work incentive trip to Mauritius on Sunday for a week. Looking so forward to it and have big plans to do nothing but read, swim and eat!!

Have a nice week lovelies x
