CONGRATS Sweetypie! Can't wait to hear your birth story!
I hope your daughter welcomes the new addition and doesn't take too much time to adapt. I'm still having a few issues with my toddler.. he is lovely with her but toward me... jeepers... he can be full of it. I know he is not used to sharing mommy but sheesh... it can get stressful at times having both to look after.

Hey pinky! It takes a while to adjust... lol... sounds like you are in good spirits though. I've been chatting in the 0-4 month advice thread... some lovely ladies there.

It is going well with us. Breastfeeding making my little one nice and chubby and she is doing well. She has been a bit cranky lately and I've done a lot of walking around with her up and down to relax her (which doesn't work well when your toddler is wanting attention lol)... but, this too shall pass. I think she's just been dealing with a lot of gas because of forceful milk letdown/ high supply. I had the same with my son and he eventually grew bigger and was able to handle it.. until then... will try to make it less of an issue for her somehow. She also has a slight snot nose (has for more than a week) due to her brother giving her a cold. Luckily she isn't sick otherwise.. my son had a horrible cough at first which she didn't get thank goodness.

Oooooh... I got my first big smiles while she was awake today... almost melted my little heart. She always does the sleep smiles thing (which they say is due to gas) but she was clearly awake and it was adorable.

You must all check in and let us know how you are doing darn it... I can't believe this thread is dying!

With us it us going well, i am just extremely tired and wonders when I'll get used to this!!! I agree that we all must keep on chatting!!!

Just a quick reply to let you all know that I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Sunday 25th April at 08:45am. Her name is Abigail and her birth weight was 3.3kgs. I had a Natural birth. Will post my birth story when I get a chance. Congrats to all the mommies who gave birth recently, and all the best to those still waiting. Chat soon xxx

Where are the rest of the ladies.. and all the mommies who have had their babies. It would be nice if we all still chatted.. we have been chatting on here for so long through or pregnancies would be sad not to chat about our LO's.

I am in awe that you went the natural route and experienced all the contractions etc. You are one strong lady!!

Enjoy every moment with your bundle, its going to be amazing.

Did they manage to help you with the breast feeding at the clinic? It is tough the first few days but it gets better as soon as your milk comes in, she will be latching in no time.

How is the pain at the moment?

Keep me up dated, would love to here how its all going.

Hi ladies

Just a quick post from my phone. My Little Katie was born last night at 21h08. Well, she wasn't so little actually, but I'll come back to that. I was booked for an induction at 02h00 Monday morning. The gel was inserted and by 09h00 I could feel minor (period like cramps) every 4 min. The day continued as internals were done, mucous plugs aggravated and eventually I was put on the oxytocin drip. My doc came to see me and moved my cervix to an anterior position and swept the membranes. A procedure that set the pace for the pains I'd experience. Between 13h00 and 19h00 i was told that I'd dialated from 1 to 4 cm then slowed again and reached 6cm. The new sister on duty however stated that I was still only 4cm. I was devistated! My hubby and the sister got on the phone with the doc and told him we'd made no progress. After all the stretching, sweeping, buldging membranes, pethadine injection and internal exams and augmentations - nothing had changed. The pethadine wore off and I was writhing in pain!! I asked for an epi, but eventually succumbed and asked for a c-section. Doc, hubby and sister were all in a agreement - not change for so long wasn't a good sign, but that I could conitnue if I wanted as neither of us were in distress. I, unfortunately, couldn't take it - I was climbing the walls!! Between 20h00 and 21h00 i was wheeled in and given a spinal block - gone were my dreams of a natural water birth
Katie was born at 21h08 and weighed in at a whopping 4.18kg. My hubby and I are slight people, so EVERYONE was shocked to say the least. I have concluded that her size hampered my labour and I'm happy (as is doc and DH) that we gave it a good try - 12 hours of labour pains and no bub was all I could do!

Abyhow, she's perfect, healthy and beautiful. She's latched well and I'm hoping we do well with the breast feeding.
