Wow Claudia awesome story! CONGRATS and well done!! I am especially pleased to hear of such a big baby being born NVD because I'm so sick of hearing the "size" thing as a reason for a c-section. Yes, there are times when size is a factor but it is very rare and doc's seem to push the size thing all the time.

Pinky - I just keep taking the pregnavit I was taking before. I think that is what my last gynae recommended.

I wonder how Beansmom is coming along!!

Hi ladies

I have a question about vitamins. Which vitamins do you use now that you are not pregnant anymore and breastfeeding? I probably need to get some, please advise!

Ladies, we went for our first weigh in at the baby clinic today and Karla picked up about 400g! She weighed 3,68 at birth, lost 200g and now weighs 3,9!!! I am so glad, because now I know that the breast milk is fine and she gets enough, at least I am doing something right, and for me that is the most important!

Well, I didnt have to wait that long after all. Yesterday morning I was feeling really down when my husband left for work, because the day before I had been to the midwife and she had said she thought it would still be a while because my cervix was still quite hard. She had recommended I start with a homeopathic remedy called Caulophallum. I had been having back ache all morning. At 10am I took my first dose and at about 10:30 I started having mild contractions. I phoned my midwife and she said to have a bath and take another dose as it may be false labour from the caullophallum. I didnt get a chance to have a bath becuase my nlaws arrived to take me out to lunch, so instead I took another dose and went out. The whole way through lunch and at the shops I was having regular contractions, but wasnt really timing them, but by the time I got dropped back at home the were quite strong (I had hidden my pain at lunch casue I hought I was in flase labour) and I phoned my doula. She asked me when I had my last dose of the caulophallum and the told me that my contractions were actually 4mins apart and that I was in labour and should phone my hubby to come home. SHe and my midwife would be with me shortly. My hubby got home at 4pm and my doula and midwife arrived at about 4:30. They checked and I was already 8cm dialated. My midwife then broke my waters and got me into the birthing pool. Unortunately my contractions weakened in the water and I wasnt able to push effecively so I had to get out. By now I was in sooo much pain I just wanted to give up! After they restimulated my fading contractions with the sintocin drip my pushing urge got stronger. Unfortunately baby was positioned posteriorly so I had a Back labout, but at 20:29 my beautiful baby boy James David was born NVD with no pain medication. He latched beautifully and had APGARS of 9 and then 10. He weighs 3.9kgs and is 53cm long. He is beautiful. I tore a little, but am not too sore and he is sucking like a champ! Although this was the hardest thing I have ever done I would do it again tomorrow!!!
