@EP - I agree with the rest that you definitely shouldn't just leave it. Bullying is a serious thing, that can leave long-term problems. I was bullied at primary school myself and know what I'm talking about. :( Ususally the bully has self-esteem problems, etc. So you won't be doing him/her a favour either. Rather get the school and parents involved and the matter sorted.

@Nixie - Shame! Hope your LO is feeling much better soon! Keep us updated.

I don't even feel like talking to dh about it. Last time when the child had the scissors, she sms'ed me to tell me she does not know what to do. So I phoned the school, and talked to the sub principal. Dh went to pick up teh kids at school, and then got angry at me cause I phoned the school, and said i was over reacting and making a scene. I feel like PUNCHING someone's nose in.

EP - Having the child expelled is not drastic! What is drastic is having your child too terrified to go to school, having her life made a misery.

I suggest you go back to the school, and have a talk with the principal. Like Shariefa says, you should make sure there is no next time with this bullying.

Oh no EP this is just uncalled for. I am not sure what I would do. Why not go and see the principal and lodge a complaint. Tell the school how this affect your child.

For goodness sake they should protect and care for our kids. Kids should not be sacred to go to school. Imagine if the parents of the bully were on the receiving end they would probaply ask to Micayla to be expelled. How about a meeting of both parents. Im not sure what is done in such instances but scissors on the throat that is way to much.

What does DH say. Flip im so pissed right now.

Please keep us updated.

As i write im thinking do what you feel is right this is your baby and protect her the best way you know how.

Hey everyone.

Its been quite a while. Been busy very busy and with the fasting too.

@ EP

I would go to the school tomorrow. I would not leave this with just a warning. At the school my kids go to bullying is taken very seriously. I suggest you go see the principal and inform them that if they do not take drastic steps you are forced to go to the Police. Involve everyone - governing body etc.

Demand that the parents of this child be called in and you be present and have it sorted out once and for all. I am sorry a warning is just not enough. That is saying its fine do it again - and what if its worst the next time.

Pls to avoid A NEXT TIME. Go to the school and have it sorted out or else you get the Education Department involved too.

Shame i really feel for your daughter. My son had the same problem. And he was also hit in the tummy. I was at that school the very next morning. I waited there until they phoned the parents. I was livid.

I am so upset. Micayla is bullied at school and teh bully has received a verbal warning. I have been told that if we ever have trouble with this child again, she will be asked to leave the school. Well, that may sound a bit drastic but I have had enough. The time she got the warning, this child has been saying she will kill Micayla, and she had scissors against Micayla's throat. Today, she cornered Micayla and pulled on her ponytail and hit her with a fist in the stomach. I am so terribly upset, I don't want to make an uncalled for scene, but I am at my wits end. I don't knwo what to do. I've sent Micayla to school with a canister of pepperspray out of desperation, and now this. My child is a big old softy who would rather suffer than stand up for herself. She does well at school, and has been on the Top ten academic list for her grade both quarters so far. She is now to scared to go to school.

What would you do? I feel like phoning the police and open an assualt case. Micayla is now complaining about her tummy being sore where she was hit.
