Jan & Feb 2010 Mommies

Hello everyone,

Hope you all have a lovely spring day! It was so cold here in CT, rainy and really not springy....

Been very busy, started working full day today - then it fetching the girls, supper, bath,washing ironing.... yikes it doesn't stop!

Abi is also sitting so nicely now - she sits for minutes at a time - and you can just see how proud she is - her whole face lights up.
We are also checking everyday for her first pearly white.... we can also see the teeth under the gum - but it just doesn't want to cut through!

Jaqi is 7 months old today, can you believe that.

Lientjie, Meags came over to babysit for us, when it was our 10th anni earlier this year (May). Jaqi was already down for teh night (and sleeping through) and we not out for long. However, that was the first time in months we've been out,and also teh last time, as a couple. Honestly, my in laws do not care enough to babysit and I don't trust just anybody.

Not very "spring"-like in Cape Town today I really need a nice sunny day - the mountain of laundry is becomming a bit daunting!

It's our 5th wedding anniversary today. Cooking a special meal for us, as I don't feel up to having a baby-sitter yet. Have you guys left your LO's with someone at night? Don't think I'll be ready for it any time soon.

Still no sign of the teeth emerging on our side. But the drool and the biting just gets worse...

@Zodwa - I really wouldn't leave the cloth nappy on for longer than 4 hours. (in response to your question on the other thread) Enjoy your trip next week!

@EP - that is so cute! My LG just laughs at me when I clap her hands.

@Rhodine - the egg whites are to check that your LO isn't allergic to it. If he is, then he could have a reaction to the 9month vaccine. Just give him a bit of scrambled eggs.

Yoza No, we just going for the long weekend, it will b Eid. Just a lil family holiday
EP That is cute. I sing to Ruru @ bedtime but now he dsnt sleep, he starts singing along with me. When I stop, he stops. So now no more singing @ bedtime.
Ruru is teething again.... He has 2 already, was hoping for a break from teething for a while

Yoza, Jaiqi does get sleepy at th ebreast while feeding, but she falls asleep on her own, once she has her dumyy in her mouth. Unfortunately,s he won't sleep without it. And she only sleeps in her bed. She won't sleep anywhere else. My older kids were the same as babies. They only slept in their beds. Imagine visiting the in laws and you have a very upset child who refuses to sleep because they want their own bed lol.

Oh I have been teaching Jaqi "Handjies klap, koekies bak" for a few days, singing it to her while holding her hands and clapping them together. So last night, she took dh's hands and began clapping them together while cooing in a sing-song voice/rythm. I could not believ my eyes and ears. I told dh to sing the song to her and when he sings, she claps, when he stops, she stops. It was soooo cute!
