Jan & Feb 2010 Mommies

The year has really flown!!! Cant bliev my baby is big!!!
This week he learnt to fall asleep on his own & since he achievd that skill he sleeps 12hrs straight which Im am absolutely happy about.
He probably has one bottle a day at this rate & has 7 teeth but he's busy teething so more are on the way.

Im not doing much this weekend, just had a very stressful week & am still recovering

Wgray - for the last week Lorelai has been doing this, crying dont want us to leave her thing. But I think your little one might be crying because of the pain. what meds are you using? They also go through phases where you cannot leave them or they freak... German Measels - I had it end of October and for about 2 weeks after all my joints were so sore I could hardly move - we dont always understand the pain they have because they cannot talk.

Thanks for that Charlotte, well, he has been better the last day or so, seems like the one tooth is through, and I am just more patient with him. I also just started a daycare this week, and it is unsettling both my boys...less attention off course for them, I have been giving him postan and prodol...I am really considering the teething necklace but DH does not want to budge...anyhow..I hope he will be ok this week, he has also changed his routine, he suddenly wants two naps again instead of just one...as DH said this morning, these stages they go through are stressful but they do pass.....

I will try and be on here more often, it is really helpful, very few forum except for the Babycenter.co.uk that has age related groups....

Congrats to all the babas who are turning one this month...I cannot believe how this year flew...it was hard but so rewarding..with 2 babies 17 months difference, and Nathan starting out in ICU and having severe reflux, but I look back and I can say we made it......so nice

Have been very scarce again!!

Have been reading the last few pages to catch up. Wow, babies are all doing so well, crawling, walking, 1st birthdays!!

Abi is not walking yet. Crawls all over the show and stands up against everything. SHe is very nervous to stand on her own, even though I can see that she will be fine if she just tries.... shame, in her own time heh.

She loves being chases - and laughs so loud if you run after her.

She has 4 teeth - 2 top 2 bottom. They all came out over a week! But nothing for about a month now......

Also celebrating her 1st b-day on the 3rd! Wow, how time flies.

Congrats to all the moms who's little ones have had birthdays!

The photos are so stunning! I will try o add some as well....

Juno - I call it a "karretjie" I was thinking that she is too small to ride on it, but clearly she gets it and she never gets off.

Lorelai also has to go for her injection, but when and where im going to find the time, no one knows.

Nixie - apparently boys take longer that girls - my mom says its because of something about the brain that is different. but who knows

HAPPY BIRTHDYA DANETTE - EP D and Amanda are 5 months apart to the day!!!! Your weekend sounds kinda busy - when will you find time to rest?

Im not doing much this weekend, tonight im driving around to get the last things for the party(at the last minute hannes invited his aunt to have a braai tonight. but he muist keep her busy while im not there). tomorrow is party time and sunday si cleaning time... mmmm much fun.

Nixie when is your wedding and im sure EP will do a wonderful job. Why not make a thread for the plannuing to help other moms and they can give advise on cheaper options.

Juno my dad made the gates himself... from scrap he had in the garage and put it up. it is quite easy. he does it for a living. let me know the side in lenght and how high adn I ask him to quote. he just doesn't paint. so you will get it as is. with everything. if you own a drill you can put it up yourself and kids struggle to open them.

Nixie you really shouldn't worry. Liam my lb has only just started crawling and he is over a year. You will also notice that books differ in opinion - Toddler Sense for example mentions 15 months as the average walking age. My doc says it is a problem if you don't see they are making progress. Where are you getting married - not sure where you are from?

EP happy b'day to Danette. You have a seriously busy weekend ahead of you =) Nice. I don't know about babybear - I will definitely go and check it out.

Well I am amazed to see that Liam seems to enjoy standing and pulling himself up against things (only to the knees) more so then crawling. It seems that everything is happening at once. My weekend is going to consist of doing a rush job of baby proofing the house!

Charlotte I saw the gate you put up in one of your pics - where did you get it? We are also looking at a wooden one to put outside across our verander steps which is a very wide area. I was at Builders Warehouse (Cape Gate) and saw they only had the picket fence with the spikes on the top. Yours looks flat at the top.
