August 2008 mommies

Hello ladies

hope you and your toddlers are doing well, my boy is keeping me so busy and is so stubborn.

As he grows older I see how different he is to his older sister, he is confident on his own and speaks his mind, he is such a lovely challenge that I can spend the whole day just talking to him and laughing but all the joy goes out the window when he starts crying and becoming clingy.

We were much more active on Pampers - maybe because they were babies then and we had more questions??

Seems like not much has been happening on this thread...are any of the mommies with 2 year and 8 month old little ones still online?

yes I breastfed my daughter until she was about 2 1/2 years old and with both of them I love the fact that they would run to me for comfort. when my son is upset he comes to me and ignores everyone else and just claims his boob until he is smiling again. it was the same with my daughter but after I stopped with her, she drifted more towards her father and she is her father's daughter now.

she wants daddy to give her a bath, daddy to make her food, daddy to whatever, but its always daddy.

I weaned Ethan off very slowly. basically reducing the time he was feeding, until he was on the breast for only like a minute or so and telling him that we are going to stop breastfeeding soon then finally one evening I told him that as of tonight no more breast. He cried for a bit, and asked again the next night, in fact he still asks every now and then, but just accept it when I say no. But shame its very difficult for them to let go.
Do you also find that your son is closer to you because of the breastfeeding and was it the same with your little girl?
