Private School or Govenment School?

Hope everyone is doing well. Does anyone know about Appleton College, in Honeydew? is it a good school?

Anyone know when do Applications this Year opens for 2015 Grade 1 for public /Government schools. I remember last year it was around March/April.

Its the waiting that is going to kill me when applying

Roses - was that in the paper or is it available online?

I know the UK has ofsted reports and would be awesome if we did too

Bandile, they only get 1 matric certificate - for the govt matric exams.

I'm not sure about how it works in WC, but the results here in GP were listed per school. So you could actually get to see which school did well .

I'm also not sure. I have been trying to search for those myself.

How do we get results of best achieving schools in Western Cape - I've searched but can't find.

This topic has been on my heart and mind for years and always stresses me out. We are currently still deciding where we want to be based in Cape Town (to buy a house) so I can't even decide on a school yet. Our home choice is obviously based on where we can get our children into great schools.

First choice would be private but not 100% sure we can afford depending on the cost of the house we buy.

My government choices in Cape Town are - Kirstenhof Primary and Edgemead
My private choices would only be if we moved to Blouberg side and built our own home which would be cheaper than buying - so CBC St Johns

We currently live in Diep River and there are no good schools close to us

Roses, how does that work that Private School write Govenment Exams, so they get 2 certificates? I have checked the one I liked, Kingsmead College, Curro Aurora, Redhill School. They all did exceptionally well, as always!
