Hi everyone!!!
Well done Chris!!! Congrats!!! I am sooooo proud of you! May your A-team bring you much happiness and joy! You have truly been blessed! Hope that you are doing well and that you are able to get some much needed rest in the next few days. You are amazing!
And Chan, I am so sorry this is late... A BIG CONGRATS ON YOUR BUNDLE OF JOY! Hope that Kade's levels for jaundice are much better today. Try keep anything yellow away from him, it makes the LO's look so bad. Good luck with the breastfeeding, I hope it all comes right real soon! You are doing amazing!
Suraya, CONGRATS TOO! How are you and baba?
Hi everyone else! We are still around, sorry I have been so quiet, its just so hectic. Hospital, home, Drs, and it all starts again...
Nathan-John is doing well, although a wee bit lazy (like boys like to be). His weight dropped today, and he is now weighing 1920g. A very good weight and he could come home on this weight... but... he is not drinking. He has one good breast feed a day and the second one is just a sleepy excuse for nothing. He is a bot more awake than last week, everyday is better. The feeding habit just needs to kick in. Soon we hope. Doesnt look like he will be home for Xmas, but its ok. I know he is well looked after where he is.
I just miss him so much. The nights are the hardest, it feels so unnatural not to have your baba with you! Until he was born I had never been away from Missy for more than an hour!!! Funny how different things are. But I've accepted and made peace with a lot of things, and we are just so grateful that all is ok, he was just a bit eager to be born in 2010!
The hospital and staff really have been great! Eventually you kind of feel like part of the staff. I spend so much time there. This week i actually nodded off in the chair! The hosital had a bad virus, so we were all moved to a temporary ICU and had extra precaustions, washing, sterilising etc etc but it all seems ok now, so we are moving back into the NICU today (I think). I've learnt to take each day as it comes and what happens happens! Even at home, it looks like a bomb has hit, but family is more important! DH and Mom have been amazing, they really are my pillars of strength right now!
So far, Nathan has only had expressed breastmilk - not easy to express all the time, but I know it is worth it! The Drs are very pro natural breastmilk. No bottle yet, still hoping he will take to the breast.
Vix, hope that you are settling down into a good routine now. You must be so busy! So cute what C has said about Mommy's babies and that he is Daddy's boy! He is a big boy now! Thinking of you everyday! Hope you are able to keep up with breastfeeding and that Jono takes to the boob better and that you dont need to go the bottle route! Just hang in there, I know you can do it!
Yvette, hope you have a stress-free week. Enjoy getting some things done. Good luck with your decision. You will know what is right for you and your baba! Did u do the castor oil last night?
Carmen, you still have some time for LO to turn, hope it all turns out right!
Maryke, shjoe, you are doing such a great job! Well done. As for MIL, how unreasonable can you get? Hope it all works out! Thinking of you!
Lizelle, Binks, Marie, Ster, Asp, thinking of you all! Try relax and take it easy ladies! Almost there!
Chris, once again, congrats our friend! Your babies are such good weights, wow!!! Cant wait to see pics! Take care of yourself and I hope you are feeling good soon! Speedy and good recovery!
Enjoy the busy week everyone! And if I dont get a chance to pop in before Friday, have a blessed, safe and happy Christmas!
