shame Yvette!! It's true that pregnancy really throws a curve ball at those who like to plan things!!! I am 26 weeks now and feel fine! Just suffering a bit with haemhorroids this week (lovely...) but what can you do hey??
I hope you manage to make a few decisions soon since you're getting so close!! Whatever choice you make, you'll be holding your baby at the end anyway :)

Carmen - hope your little one turns soon!

thanks meags. i am by nature a well-organised, confident and knowledgable person, but man, pregnancy stuff and the choices that go along with it blows my hair back. its always a catch22 with me and being pregnant. maybe because i don;t actually have the control that i would like? it really is the most confusing time for me and i am not enjoying it right now because time is nearing and i need to try make decisions that are right for ME and not my gynae. very hard to do. how is france? lucky lucky girl. the frenchmen have the most sexy accents ;) LOVELY! hope mattiheu is behaving himself! i see you are 24 weeks now hey? how are you feeling by the way?

Chris!!!! your time has come! I hope that you are calm and enjoying your last "quiet" night :)

Yvette - ROA position is perfect for natural birth. We know that a ROP or LOP (right or left occipit posterior) means a more difficult pushing session FOR SOME but otherwise ROA and LOA are perfect!! It's also not ideal to identify the position of the baby until you are in actual labour, as the labour pushes them into the most ideal position they are able to progress in so until you actually go into labour - don't worry about the whole position thing.

Chan - hope the midwife is able to help you tomorrow with the breastfeeding!

Vix - well done on breastfeeding and expressing! Maybe Jono is trying to make up for all the attention Alex got!

hi ladies. missing you all ;)

i dropped my children at my mom today when i went there for a braai. they make me too tired. poor little things. i need a break. craig been on night shift from fir - sat and tonight. i have hardly seen the man since tuesday. so i'm feeling all stressed. dork.

i was telling chris that i am still in two minds about having a vbac. my gyane wanted to do the c=section next week (as in 3 days time). i;ll be 37 weeks and the baby will be fine but i declined. i think he trying to avoid arguing with me. i kept asking him about baby;s position, engagement, mucous, contractions etc and all he could answer me really was that he is very happy with the little one and there is nothing to worry about. i had ashley and cameran there so i couldn;t really take the time to really with him. i am not sure if i should contact the midwife again as he said she is a bit of a cow-boy and one of these days, something is going to go wrong with apatient under her care. not very comforting. i;ve been reading up on baby presentations. my one is ROA (right occipital anterior) which generally means the baby will turn to the posterior position in labour - hard and long with very sore back pain. many women fall to the c-section with this presentation because of the back pain. epidural is not indicated to me as i have had a c-section, so gas and air it is! i'm ok with that.
so ya, very confused now. still. dh trusts dr's opinion greatly - i do too. that is why i am with him. craig "does not wanna lose his beautiful wifey and little Hog"... mmmm.

anyway, so i thought i would try castor oil tongiht. since i am on my own at home. got nothing else to do... except finish that baby room. shoo but that room is annoying me. its way smaller than i thought and the carpets are so gross. we've had them cleaned.

who has done the castor oil thing? will be in for a shitty night :) ;) ha hahahahaha

come girls, i'll bring a smile to your faces!

ps my braxton hicks contractions are quite long - just had another one for 43seconds. the last one was 35 sec 20 minutes ago.

Vix I've got a midwife coming to my house in the morning to weigh Kade and do necessary breast checks etc so I'll see what she says. I think they are definitely engorged though because they're like rocks. I use the heat pads and massage but think I need a pump now because he's not finishing off a boob and then it becomes rock hard

I'm sure you're having a much more hectic time than me though!

Kade is really very good. Only cries when his tummy is sore. He's got jaundice now so we had to bring the machine home and he needs to be on it all the time except wheN drinking from me. Do you know how impossible that is? He hates it and screams. So I only get to put him on when he's fast asleep. Let's hope his count as dropped tomorrow and we can stop.

Chris I'm thinking of you! I can't believe its time for your babies to arrive. You must be so nervous and excited! Good luck for tomorrow!!

Chan- sorry you're having a hectic time with feeding. Maybe Kade is having trouble sucking out the milk because you are so badly engorged, even though he is latched and sucking away he might actually not be drinking much. Have you tried the heat packs before feeding for 10min then massage the lumps on the breast before trying to latch Kade? Alex puts up a fight if my boobs are hard. If you have a pump then express a little first to ease the pressure in the breast.

I am having trouble breast feeding Jono since getting home, he has only latched once since friday. I am still goving him breast milk but from a bottle which is mega hctic especially trying to BF another baby too. It's impossible for one person to feed 2 babies when one is on a bottle. I'm still trying everyday to get him to taske the breast though.

Alex is my little dream baby, he sleeps and eats sleeps and eats. Jono is a whole different ball game, he has hectic cramps if I eat anything other than boring plain food, he grunts and graons the whole time in his sleep and only sleeps 2hrs before becoming restless. He's really hard work, someone once told me that the good thing about NICU is by the time they come home the baby is in a good eating and sleeping routine but not my boy, oh no, he just wants to be held. Trying desperately not to give into that though because I did it with C and it caused endless issues so he's just going to have to get used to my eat, burp, lay down routine. Man but I have to be honest, 2 babies is flippin hard work! I really miss my sleep already. Because Alex is so placid our first week at home was really a lot easier than I expected. Jono just added some serious craziness to the mix, but I'm pleased to have him home none the less.

C seems to have stopped hurting the babies for now. He is being very gentle and kissing them all the time. He helps me change their nappies too. He gets highly upset when Elwyn holds a baby and he tels him "no, mommies!" So he has accepted that I will always be holding the babies but not his daddy. I said to C "are you my special boy?" And he said "no, Daddies" so I think he will allow the babies to be mine but he is Daddies. LOL Cute!

Chris- so you must be heading into the hospital this evening hey? Wow, I really can't believe your time is here! You must be so excited yet nervous for your new adventure. I'm sure your babies must be nice and BIG by now. Jono was only measuring 31w on the scan and he was 1.660kg at birth with 17 days in NICU just for fattening up so I'm sure your babies will also be nice and strong and possibly even bigger than my monster. I hope you get to enjoy the birth through all the nerves, I was so calm and collected until the moment they rolled me into theatre and once again I became a bag of nerves. I hope they do your C-sec in the evening that way the 12hrs laying down won't seem too bad before you can walk to go see your babies. I didn't see Jono until the next evening because no one told me where NICU was, I had to wait for DH to take me round, terrible hey? So when you wake up in the morning and you're able to walk insist you need to go see your babies. DH will follow the babies out of theatre until they are tagged but they won't allow him into NICU for at least an hour after admission because they need space to put up drips and take bloods etc and it can all be quite scary to look at if they haven't explained it all but he'll be allowed in as soon as the babies are finshed being hooked up and checked over, then he must take tons of photos to bring back and show you!!!! At the birth the pead let me hold Alex and even kiss Jono before they took them away. I remember I still asked is he breathing well enough not to be hooked up to machines and he said almost all newborns even prems can breath well at first so they have long enough for you to say hello before they put them in incubators.

Sorry guys I just haven't had time for the PC so haven't been able to post the popping list but if you check on pg1 there is a popping list there, someone can always copy and paste it if they want?
