Sterretjie - good luck for the grommets tomorrow, hope Inge gets used to the cot again. Which sunglasses did you get, BabyBanz?

When does one get used to leaving your lo a daycare?
Feels like my heart is ripped out every morning I leave her to go to work.

Mandz the first day was aweful, though of her often. Work itslef not too bad.

Mandz - yes, Inge took to her sunglasses immediately. they say the younger they are the better

Chan - Happy 8 months Kade!! have you tried giving him Lennon's Behoedmiddel vir kinders? You don't think it is night colic?

I'm at my wits end with Inge - she sleeps well on a normal bed but as soon as you put her in her cot she only sleeps a bit. And it is not that she is not use to sleeping on her own - she has been in her own room since 2 months. I'm so tired of waking every hour to two. I'm seriously considering taking her out of the cot and onto a normal bed. Or do the Montessori room with a mattress on the floor - apparently the latest trend. Tomorrow morning it is time for grommets and I honestly hope and pray that she will be better.

Hope all the other ladies are well? and your LO's are all healthy and good.

Allergy tests back = not allergic to anything!! Great news but once again we're in the damn dark as to whats wrong!

Kade was 8 months old yesterday!!!

Mandz that's the thing - he looks like such a healthy big boy and he's so happy during the day! But come night time and his tummy goes mental. He hardly ever cries, except when he's tired or hungry. He just laughs and plays all day!

How's everyone else doing? Hope all babies are doing great!

LOL Chan! I can imagine you creating a scene at the doctors! Well I really hope you can get this settled now. The funny thing is he looks like such a healthy bog boy, yet clearly he is allergic to something or the reflux must be really awful for him. Can only imagine. Shame poor boy, and for you-you need a medal(and a weeks worth of non stop sleep!).

Sterretjie- I am glad you got mom to come help you. hope the Grommets all work out well, always hard for us to watch our little ones go through these things. Oh and I love those glasses want to get J a pair- does she keep them on? J seems to hate the sun in his eyes-like he seriously complains might have sensitive eyes like his dad.

Carmen- How was your first day back at work? As for BB, I don't have one, sorry.

Hope you are all well?
I have read your posts but have been MIA for a while because Inge had another visit to the hospital – this time spending 4 nights – my nerves!!!!
I took her to the GP on 30th of July and he gave her antibiotics for her nose, ears and throat. I kept her from crèche and just got worse. Last week Wednesday I took her to the Pead after a very bad Tuesday night – Chan I kept on thinking about you. Inge only fell asleep just after 4 the morning as everytime I put her down she would scream like a pig being slaughtered. The Pead told me that she is admitting her asap as her oxygen level was only 87% and it should be 90%. DH was in Durban and I just realized again that having NO support sucks. Any way, in true Moomie style we survived the 4 nights in hospital (note to myself – should Inge ever be admitted again I will take a stretcher with – damn those lazyboys are so uncomfortable). The ENT also paid me a visit and this coming Tuesday it is time for grommets.
Also figured out (thanks to Google) that she is either Lactose Intolerant or has a Milk Allergy as the Novalac has given her more and more cramps and from last night she is on NAN Lactose Free and this morning I have a completely different child. Some of the signs of Lactose Intolerance - Crying; Spitting up (reflux); Gas; Loose stools; Eczema; Ear infections. Some of the signs of Milk Allergy includes Chronic runny nose; Coughing; Ear infections; Excessive colic; Excoriated buttocks; Failure to thrive; Fluid behind ears; Irritability; Nasal stuffiness; Rash, hives and eczema; Recurrent "colds," sinusitis,; Recurrent bronchitis; Recurrent diarrhea; Vomiting, abdominal pain; Wet and wheezy chest. This is so close to home – my poor baby. Granny was flown up again and according to her she is not leaving here until Madam is 100%.
I was also under the impression that if a baby is Lactose Intolerant changing him / her to Isomil or Soy is the answer but apparently not – it can actually worsen the situation and we are there now. Hopefully with the new milk and her grommets we should be a for away.
